Don't have an issue with them moving Langer on if that's what they think is best. The Captain is still where the buck stops in cricket. Langer did very well, but get the feeling his time was up.
Looking forward to the Pakistan series. Having Green as a genuine all-rounder is such a luxury and gives them the opportunity to play 2 spinners and still having three front line pace bowlers. I suspect though, that they'll stick with the same structure for the 1st Test and it will be a choice of Hazlewood or Boland for one bowling spot and Khawaja or Harris for the opening spot.

Agree with your first sentence as most people would I suspect.
Put a line through Harris as surely he’s done.

Going by that statement JL pulled a few ego's down a number of pegs and they have squealed to their manager who has piled on the pressure to CA.Booney wrote:Usman Khawaja on Justin Langer :

Wasn't there a toasted sandwich incident that JL went ballistic over??

Or put it in his pocket to go field....that's not even acceptable in a 5 division English Village league let alone a ******* Test Match!Booney wrote:heater31 wrote:Going by that statement JL pulled a few ego's down a number of pegs and they have squealed to their manager who has piled on the pressure to CA.Booney wrote:Usman Khawaja on Justin Langer :

Where Labuschagne wanted one brought out into the middle?

The treatment of JL from CA and the playing group is absolutely disgusting. Since when did players dictate performances on field to have leverage over the coach? Since when do players whinge to CA in a way to remove the coach? This would never of happened during Ponting, Steve Waugh, Mark Taylor and Allan Border's reign at the helm.
We have so many blokes who would love to represent Australia in any format sitting and waiting for their opportunity and they wouldn't be sooking if the coach tells them something they didn't like. Some of the current player's need to bring their ego's back down to earth and realise how lucky they are to represent their country and wear the Baggy Green. These blokes are disrespecting what it means to wear the Baggy Green and they should be the ones the resign and allow someone else who wants to play for Australia no matter the coach and how the coach goes about his business.
I for one really hope England approach JL to coach them and at the next Ashes they wipe the floor with the Aussies to teach them some humility and respect. Coz this has really turned me away from cricket.

Richardson not selected as he is being managed due to his injury issues.
Agar comes into the test squad.
The first test starts the 4th of March.
Agar is the only one I cant agree with. Surely his not the third best spinner in the country at shield level. Admittedly I haven't looked up his stats this year.
Other than that its pretty much what most would have picked. Would have loved to see Street or Hunt go over for the experience but I guess the purse strings are tight at CA at the moment with everything covid has thrown at them.
Left Armer & fact he can hold a bat bit gets Agar across the line I think. He's going over as third choice will only play if they need extra batting depth but with Green there now doubt that happens.
I thought Pukovski might have been straight back in for Harris but guess they want him to find his feet at shield level for rest of the year.

You won't find Agar's Sheffield Shield stats for 2021/22 Wuffer because he hasn't played a shield match for WA this season due to being a part of the Aussies T20 WC squad.
There's probably no one else in state cricket that could play that spinning all rounder role but the Australian selectors love Agar and the love affair continues. If everything goes right for the Aussies I doubt he will play.
Pucovski has only just returned to grade cricket for Melbourne CC in the new year, he made 70 opening the batting in their one day match on Saturday just gone and before that made scores of 40, 8 and 32 in a T20. He's set to play for Victoria for the first time in 398 days in today's SS match against SA.

They should be but he gets far to much air time still to this day.
He absolutely appeases the 60 year old bar flys who are already lining up to get into your local pub right now and are carrying their advertiser tab guide.

But, but, but Bill Lawry once told him that it's easier to face a right arm seamer bowling around the wicket than over the wicket so all right arm seamers should always be bowling over the wicket even though as a collective they've had more success bowling around the wicket in recent times (eg Broad to Warner and Flintoffto Gilchrist).Booney wrote:whufc wrote:As per usual could not agree less with Ian Chappells view that a team doesn't need a coach.
