Time to put the resources into the hospitals to manage admissions rather than blanket testing (we need the clinicians back in the health care system)
Test on admission, implement transmission based precautions until proven negative
if unwell see a GP and get a RAT test isolate for a period of time if deteriorating present to hospital
Mask mandates until hospital admissions stabilise
Check ins to protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated at major events - your choice not to get vaccinated but it has consequences to protect the wider community and health services
Move to integrate the covid vaccination into the regular flu shot annually
My wife went into an ED on early Sunday morning, only one in there for the 4 hours she sat in the ED. Finally got into a consult room and they said “you’ve been here so long you now have to do a COVID test before a doctor is called”. WTF don’t the a RAT on arrival? Had there been more people in there the chances of someone having it and spreading it is quite big.

Personally I reckon Novak should not be allowed to play
From Novak's point of view Being an antivaxxer is his prerogative Wanting to come here for a sporting immortality is what he wants
He has a chance of becoming the greatest grand slam winning player in the galaxy Fed, Raf and Novak are all on 20 Grand Slam wins each To be the best is what sum elite sportsmen crave If Novak wins the Australian Open he makes it 21 and in front of the other champs
I cant condone Novak for coming over I could condone whoever allows him to come over though
“Vaccination is absolutely critical” - S Marshall.
"So they're 50 / 50. So it what's the point of being vaccinated?" I hear a cry.
Here's the maths. There are currently 101 people in hospital. Let's say 51 of them are vaxxed and 50 of them are not. There are current 1.7m people in SA.
89% of people are fully vaccinated.
So 1.5 million people are vaxxed. 200k people are not.
So 51 out out 1.5m vaxxed people are in hospital
50 out of 200,000 unvaxxed people are in hospital
That's a 1 in 30,000 chance of being in hospital for vaxxed people
