Did you see the Kiwis batting?stampy wrote:Will get howled down here, but this test is a ******* disgrace, how often does it happen in india? **** off already
Has been a decent pitch with a bit in it for the quicks and I feel NZ lost it in the first hour on day 1. The pitch had been under covers for most of the day leading up to the test and a brave decision by Kohli to bat first. The Kiwi quicks couldn’t make use of the conditions and let India off the hook, then when it was turn for them to bat the less said the better

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
The first test between South Africa and India starts tonight at 6.30pm our time in Centurion.
India have never won a series in South Africa and this three test series is surely a great opportunity for them to finally win one there.
First up Supersport Park has been a fortress for SA, having won 21 of 26 tests there and have only lost 2 with 3 draws.
Both teams have big outs, no Nortje for SA for the whole series as he has a hip injury and Ravi Jadeja is missing for India with injury aswell.

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
India batting first, Rahul and Agarwal are doing it easy at the moment, 0/90 from 30 overs. Agarwal 53* and Rahul 29*.
Interestingly Ajinkya Rahane who has struggled for runs lately has been selected over Shreyas Iyer who has had a very good start to his career.

Yeah that was strange, a fair bit of noise was made about Olivier returning but then they go with the young guy who bowled too straight and too short from what I watched last night.Armchair expert wrote:Saffies get kolpak players back and they don't select Olivier![]()

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
Turns out Olivier was forced out of the first test because of the lingering effects of Covid-19 which he tested positive for a few weeks ago and a hamstring niggle. The Dark Knight wrote:Yeah that was strange, a fair bit of noise was made about Olivier returning but then they go with the young guy who bowled too straight and too short from what I watched last night.Armchair expert wrote:Saffies get kolpak players back and they don't select Olivier![]()

The South African bowling looks ok especially in their conditions
It’s the batting that really lets them down

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
South Africa are 5/109 at tea, trail by 218.
SA were 4/32, Bavuma and de Kock put on 72 but India are still in control.
Bumrah injured, a sprained ankle and had to go off but Siraj and Shami in particular have bowled very well.

South Africa v India, day four.
The first ball I've seen of the days play is the first ball after lunch and it's a wicket! Kohli nicks up to Jansen for 18, another failure for Virat.
India currently 4/79, lead by 204.

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
Whats the Covid situation in SAF, is their crowd restrictions.
If not cricket in SAF is in a real bad way, biggest test of the year, tiny crowd, team that is struggling. They seem to be going backwards at rapid knots.

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
No idea re COVID situation but they've had shite crowds in South Africa at tests for a while now. IIRC ticket prices have been blamed in the past.
