My experience too, after the missus had her car written off early this year. The assessors are the laziest pricks on the planet; they offer the lowest price they can justify, then let you do all the work researching similar cars on the market to find what it's really worth. Then you'll get a "compromise" offer, still not quite as high as your research suggests, but significantly higher than their initial offer so you'll accept it with relief.Brodlach wrote:Never take their first estimate, always respond with pictures and sales of current cars available. They tried that with us, lowballed us, I went back and got nearly double the initial offer.amber_fluid wrote:Friend of mine just got her car accessed after the hail storm out north last month.Brodlach wrote:Not just tyres but how is the price of second hand vehicles
Bought my new car 3 years ago, thinking of upgrading over the Christmas break. My car second hand is worth what I paid for it new 3 years ago according to Cars Guide and what is on there. Crazy.
They have said it’s a write off and they are paying her about half of what the car is now worth in todays market.
She will get a very average car now as opposed to the good car she had.

I'm going with your recommendation, I hate wearing a button up shirt with a blazer though, I'll be taking it off upon entry anyway.MW wrote:Suit without a tieLightning McQueen wrote:What is cocktail dress code nowadays?

That was the plan, I was never going to suit up, anyone that sets a "suit up" theme in summer is un-Australian.The Ash Man wrote:Chinos, shirt, jacketLightning McQueen wrote:What is cocktail dress code nowadays?
