Minimum 3 list changes, they only have pick 3 in this years draft.

What's the rationale behind this rule? Would it be so that you don't have some ordinary years draft-wise where not very many get picked up?

This is all very bizarre and truth will have to come out eventually.

After his tweet last week about nuffy reporters etc I think Hugh also looks a bit silly now. Perhaps a case of a late starter in footy trying to get as much cash as possible with only a few years left in his career.

Questions for North fans, with Cunnington being one of the best inside mids in the comp & LDU looking like he is coming on very nicely in a similar role a is bringing in a 29 year old inside mid a good get with the current 're-build' going on?
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Fair question.

Add Horne-Francis as another inside mid / forward.

Does seem strange to not put up a lesser known player on the delist/re-list strategy, maybe there was more to it? But would have thought Greenwood was the perfect player to have around the club and in their midfield while they rebuild.

As for us going after him, I'm a bit curious, I wonder if Cunnington's injury plagued last couple of years is part of the reason, takes a bit of load off Cunners to maybe play forward. Certainly gives us some pretty awesome midfield depth when you add him and JHF.

Maybe Noble was after a taller mid in our mix?

Greenwood 191
Cunnington 185
Simpkin 182
LDU 188
JHF 183
Hall 185
Powell 183
Phillips 180
Thomas 188

Adds another big body around the ball that can push forward. I think it's clear that Cunningham will spend less time in the middle next season, blokes getting older and father time comes for us all.

Greenwood just gives the club another option to add to the mix with the young players.

Not a bad get in my opinion.

Can you handball goals now?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

I've always had a soft spot for the Suns but that was plain stupidity, don't play games with people's well being.

I'm a bit of a Hugh fan, I think he has a lot to offer still, I hope he does well with North, I like what they're building out there.

Perhaps I'm a bit more cynical in my thinking than others, but I saw Hugh's tweet from last week as nothing more than a "I'm happy with the suns, North, you need to up your offer if you want me to sign".

No different to players shopping themselves around when they are trying to get their current club to up the contract extension offer.

He played the game and got North's offer to a level he was happy with, and signed accordingly.

IMO.

Reportedly North is paying him 400k, I don't think that is much more than Gold Coast would have been paying him.

Reports I read :

Gold Coast $400k for 2022 with a trigger for 2023

North $500k for 2022 and 2023 with a trigger for 2024

The two biggest moves of the 2021 trade / pre draft period :

Former pick 56 with 64 games goes from the 6th placed team to the 15th placed team.

Former Cat B rookie with 83 games goes from the 16th placed team to the 18th placed team.

AFLPA certainly getting their wish.
