I remember Murray Goodwin playing for WA wasn't he born in South Africa or Zimbabwe?

It was a good ball from Paris and a good catch from Phillippe who took also took a ripper to dismiss Pierson.

Zimbabwe only played international cricket from 1998 to 2000.

He was born in Zimbabwe, I was just reading about Murray and his son Jayden.
Murray made a stack of runs for both WA and Sussex.
Jayden was going to have two years away from cricket to concentrate on his Mormon Mission in Zimbabwe but the pandemic prevented him from travelling there. He's come into the the WA team for Sam Whiteman who suffered delayed concussion symptoms after playing grade cricket on the weekend where he made 187*. Goodwin is coming off a grade cricket century too, making 131 for Subiaco on Saturday.

Trav can definitely kiss goodbye to a Ashes spot, probably not even in the mix currently

Henry Hunt becoming a really good player. Currently 61no.
Nielsen out for a globe. They'll bring Lehmann back in as he's scored a century in the 2nds this week and currently 60 odd not out in the 2nd dig. The others who had been pressing for selection (Drew Capel and Kelly) all missed out in the first innings.

Liam Scott 19*

Hopefully this is his innings to announce himself as a Shield player*. At least he's batting at 7 now and not being sacrificed at 3 like last season.

*this post will no doubt trigger his instant dismissal
This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!

Struggling at the wrong time, 3 or 4 failures in his last 4 SS knocks
Lab is a certainty.
Khawaja will get a spot

Yep. Mike's been just about the one positive out of the last season and a bit.

I reckon Head and Green should get first crack if no-one else steps up - doesn't mean they will of course.

And if Pucovski can't play then I think Khawaja's form should earn him the other opener slot.

Khawaja making runs at 4 this year, I’d hope we don’t shoehorn him into a openers spot

Just saw the replay of Head's dismissal, he got a pretty good delivery from Neal-Smith and he didn't get himself out on this occasion.

He played the wrong line to a straight ball and got an inside edge.. it was sloppy.

Agree with Jim, Heads timing has been shocking and will see him miss out.

Could Henry Hunt be a chance to partner Warner now that Pucovski is not going to be fit to play. His originally from NSW which has to work in his favour.
