Agreed although Rd 19 was a comprehensive win with North in front all day where in the 2 Central victories North were in front at half time.

There's odd stuff like that all over the place. The dogs only picked up all of the 3,2,1 about 6 times from an 18-2 season. That may show the even-ness of the side, the crap-ness of the umps or the dogs only ever did what was needed to win games instead of putting the fut on the throat of the opposition...

I know that it took some effort to produce this (and thanks for that effort) but I can't resist...

True, but I thought that umpires took more notice of last halves (or at least could remember them better). This was often a criticism of umpires doing the votes. Perhaps unjustified?

Btw, it would be unchartered territory for Central to be in front at halftime against North. Will Sunday see this happen? I would love to put money on North being in front at halftime and Central at the end.

Don't forget the "fairest" part of the equation

The umps don't just give the votes to the best player necessarially, its fairest AND most brilliant

I think that might explain some of the anomolies - I have no idea how the umps factor in the "fairest" part but I guess if you give lip all day and get 30 possession you end up with squat
