I love that they’re continuing the tradition. The location is central and that chimney has been standing over looking Thebarton Oval since football has been played there (beginning 1922). Now that the SANFL will have its base there, even more appropriate. They spent $1.5m doing it up when the Brickworks was changed to a shopping complex 5 years ago. The chimney has character, just like the SANFL.

I do laugh that it seems the majority of supporters who hang shit & take the most joy in Glenelg losing a GF are those who follow North & Port.
You know, the only 2 teams we actually beat in GF’s…

I'm laughing too! Good times had by all.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Well the Bays did beat the real Port Adelaide (1870 to 2013 RIP) once in a GF, albeit it back in the 1930s.

Fair point as I wasn’t aware of that one though it was a bit before my time ;)

Saw Hand Job interviewed on the News last night at the Glenelg Golf Day. Said how he’s reviewed and studied the GF game numerous times up to 3 quarter time. Perhaps if he’d paid the Eagles more respect after the 2nd Semi and looked at what he could do differently they might have got within 6 goals. Clearly out coached. Hope there were no Covid breaches on the Golf Course

Bit rich that graffitti being tagged in the Richmond oval toilet block (Some people may get that longstanding FootySa/SAFooty joke)

Classless, embarrassing, and unnecessary post Eagles Nest.

The last couple of years have shown there's a few Eagles fans (not the majority on this site, I hasten to add) who are bad winners. You'd think with their previous poor record in GFs there'd be a greater sense of humility and grace.

Hopefully not me I’ve been brought inline on another forum . Must admit whatever I post on that forum one Glenelg fan comes for blood . Whether I’ve attacked anyone or not . And Magellan I learnt from lots of GF loses to be a happy winner . But some fans from losing GF clubs like North and Glenelg need to learn to accept on the day what’ve happens happens . I’ll highlight the female north fan verbally abusing Poole until he kicked a bag . And some Glenelg fans abusing every Eagles player then turn it around and abuse every Glenelg player . Some Glenelg fans went in with flags but left the flags behind after the game .
Saying all that I’m highlighting what I saw and heard in the last two GFs
I never thought I’d see a eagles coach coach back to back have now
And twice I’ve heard the Eagles chant drown out Adelaide oval that’s heaven

You're alright, MJP. :D

Saying things in the heat of battle at the game (appropriate or not) is one thing. And some byplay on this site, done appropriately, is part of the territory. However, a post 3 weeks' after the event that has a go at an opposition coach for- wait for it - reviewing the video of the game and playing a round of golf is simply baffling, and a bit sad.
