Grand Final preview in div 1 this week EP vs Salisbury West.

A spark lit over the weekend on social media as well......

Bowling depth is probably an issue at EP, Looking at Virginias batting scorecard on the weekend, surely a different result in their match if bascombe and warren bat?

50 runs is a fair bit short.

Batting is definitely EP strength but there bowling should be able to defend the scores they can hit like on the weekend. I noticed Wills didn't bowl. Is he injured? Would be very handy to have his line and length from the opposite end to Benny Mc at various stages.

For mine they will be a very hard team to beat if they bat first.

Wills will be a big asset, I'm assuming he wasn't there on day two?

Not sure bleedredandblue ould answer that one.

Last time i played against Wills when he was at Gardens he didn't bowl in that season, if iirc it might have been back issues or something. Wouldnt have a clue if that is still the case but i rate him as a bowler big time.

That's no way to talk about Tuckers and Knappy.

I think it's anyone's cup this season, the Units will struggle but will upset a few apple carts along the way, there is still enough talent and match winners there who will pop up throughout the season.

Obviously Westies will do Westy things, Dublin will be around the mark as will Eastern Park, two Carman's for the whole season will see Angle Vale a force and Virginia can never be under-estimated, they're always up and about when it matters.

I see Atkins is back at the Knights. Where’d he go last year?
He tore up Div 2 a few years back, is he gonna cause some damage or is he washed up now?
Reckon Knights would be happy to have him back!

Pdca is the worst competition I’ve ever seen for no club loyalty... it’s very embarrassing!

B Grade going alright.

Good luck to NP, hope they can work through the season and have some reasonable times along the way.

Sadly this is the problem with amateur sport these days now that money talks.

I know what your saying, sometimes it is money. But sometimes it's those simple things like enjoyment, culture, people, friends.

Eggy,

Sounds like he’s still gonna go alright then. Did hear some rumours that he’s only playing this year then taking cash to play in the hills? Thought he was loyal? Maybe just a merc? Wouldn’t be worth much at his age so a bit disappointing if he’s leaving for loose change….

If he does go to the hills for a hit it will be just because it’s close to home. Pete’s one of the most loyal blokes when it comes to playing cricket. He has to be the knights made him the player he is. He’s come a long way from full whites to training on night one!

Eggy, Auto,

Sounds like he’s loyal then. No chance for a club down south to poach then? Would he be worth speaking to? I’ve heard he’s leaving the Knights anyway so might as well throw the hat in the ring?

No idea. But ive played against NEK for a long time, since they were known as MHOS, and the one thing about NEK I know is there is never much turnover of players. Its a close knit club.

Doubt you could get Pete out of NEK.

Pistol and Smasha used to be on this forum as regulars but havent posted for some time. Maybe they still read it.
