If Carey's able to show some improvement behind the stumps he should hopefully put some pressure on Paine.

Lead by 228 with 40 odd overs left - at best they might give us 35 overs to chase 250.. but it doesn't seem likely.

44 overs left and 220 ahead. Paris not looking to score.

So perhaps not.

Captains can agree to draw at the tea break. Probable.

Particularly with no points to be gained in 2nd innings for wickets/runs.

i just don't get the though process of WA set a f*&king target! make it impossible to lose but give an incentive to SA to have a dip. there is a nice crowd in, game 1 of the year get some time into your bowlers aswell in a situation you may need to protect runs later in the year yet they produce this boring end,

I would be annoyed if i was travis, its a selfish move by WA IMO

Yes WA could be doing more but equally so could we.
Why is Grant in his 16th over, with an economy rate of 1.3 still bowling?

Put a pie chucker on to buy some wickets or runs and keep the game moving.

A devastating fourth wave of COVID shutting state borders until April might present the Backs best chance at a shield for the next 50 years.

I don’t understand how they got more bonus points than us; we beat them on first innings and had a greater turn rate in the first innings

Are you sure? Each side only took 4 wickets in the first 100 overs, and runs would've been similar.

Perhaps CA site hasn't added our batting bonus points (0.4 for wickets + 1 pt draw)

I think the County Championship coverage is streets ahead than the Shield.

CA Website has more points for us, but we still aren't top...

POS Team,,,M,,,D,,,BP,,,TP
1 New South Wales,,,0,,,0,,,0,,,0
2 South Australia,,,1,,,1,,,2.32,,,3.32
3 Western Australia,,,1,,,1,,,1.75,,,2.75
4 Queensland,,,0,,,0,,,0,,,0
5 Tasmania,,,0,,,0,,,0,,,0
6 Victoria,,,0,,,0,,,0,,,0

Not even joking, the website has NSW locked in top no matter the actual points haha
