Bowl Pope
Why pick him if you're not going to bowl him? Head is a JUNK bowler and has played 120 first class games. He isn't getting any better
Kerber is a left arm Travis Head, not a red ball bowler. Got absolutely smashed. Be careful driving along Port Road while he's bowling

This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!

Agree, if you are going to pick Pope then bowl him.
He will be more expensive, but he is generally a wicket taker which we need right now.
The negative attitude of Head to bowl himself to try and stop the flow of runs from Kerber is not helping.

They’ll be chasing 550 here.

Over 2 innings
I thought one of the areas identified in the off season was the need to take 20 wickets (obviously)?? At least we can take comfort in knowing that we don't have to deal with change - we'll only need to bowl once each game

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2021/22
Looks like our tactic this year will be “bowl first, let them declare, score a smallish total, then hope they give us a sporting declaration to steal some points”
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

We’d still lose chasing a small total after a sporting declaration

Game 1 - WA to beat SA
$50 @ $1.33 = $66.50
Only problem is when they lose to WA the next team will be in to $1.10 for the win

Sorry Kerber but you're out of your depth. Might be able to dominate at Grade level bowling to the muppets in SA Premier cricket but not here!

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2021/22
Now I've seen it all - just read this on cricket.com about the saviour for our bowling attack:
"Doggett figured that at least the enforced lay-off might help settle the back injury he developed at the end of last summer's successful Shield campaign - his first 'full' season in more than two years due to quadriceps and back problems – and he could hit the ground running once he got to Adelaide.
But the back issue has proved more troubling than expected, and he has instead eased into work with his new team which means the timing of his first outing in SA colours is as unclear as the domestic summer schedule itself.
"It's a crack, so we don't know what we're going to do about it," he says matter-of-factly of the latest report on his spine.
"It's a bit of a weird one because I don't have any pain in there but the images we get on it, it looks horrific.
"I've been managing it for four years, but it's probably at its worst point now so we just wait and see what happens.
"I'll try and play as much as I can while I'm pain free, and then if any pain comes up we'll just put the brakes on and go from there."
So now we've recruited a guy with a suspect back on a 3-year deal on big coin!!!! Well done SACA.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2021/22
The worry is how rapidly this partnership has moved the game forward - 197 off 268 balls.
I fear the worst is yet to come.
