It's looking to me like Thommo wanted his first year primarily to see what talent we have, he blooded a lot of players, now he's culling the players that he thinks won't make it.
It's going to be a very interesting few months ahead!

He'll have to cull a few.....starting with our ruckman.

Yeah agree. He definitely used this year to give as many opportunities as possible to see who is worthy of being around this year. I think that explains a lot of the selection decisions to which fans seemed to get disgruntled about, he was testing the waters for sure.

The sad part if Thommo was honest was that less than a handful took the chances they were gifted and not likely to get again.

As long as we get more wins next season than this year I will be happy, not expecting any finals miracles or anything like that.

Doesn’t really matter now but I was told the exact way they came to the Eagles on less money than at Centrals
And now playing in the finals seems to have worked out well for both brothers and the Eagles

He’ll need to get approval from the Boss first

That raises an interesting question his boss and another ex Eagles players boss both came into the eagles saying some rubbish
Would the Eagles want them back sometimes one shouldn’t burn bridges

Yep, if you're a right hand batsman strong on the off side and not so strong on the leg side you're in for a lot of running.

I only played footy on it, eventually learnt not to get stranded on the outer wing and spent most of my time hanging on the wing near the club rooms.

Near the western end goals with the tree over hanging the goal line. All part of the experience of playing on the pastie.

The Menzel brothers are always mentioned together and look similar - but play quite differently. Dan - even after however many knee reconstructions still has a great standing leap and is very strong overhead, more so playing as a key forward. Would be in the first half-dozen picked I would imagine. Works hard to provide a target. Troy is more the classic flanker and if he could be fully fit/fit enough, would be very handy further up the field as he delivers nicely inside 50 - but in reality would be on the fringe of selection as best 22 with his current output. Still a very handy player and on his day is very good. Along with Stengle - they have provided some x-factor to the Eagles forward line that was lost from last years premiership side with the departure of Nick Hayes, Rowe and Lowson.

Clubs always have, and always will, find creative ways to remunerate their players.

Some clubs KOTN on to the better ways of doing it and it is day and Knight between the good and bad.

With Vossey moving to Melbourne , would his son leave Sturt and go with him as a family. Not sure if he lives with his parents.
