135-0 against the third ranked side would suggest so!

Silly move in my books as a win would have put them in the finals. Im not a fan of playing kids who aren't up to it yet infront of guys that have been good all year.A grade couldn't make the 4 but picked some of the best b graders aswell this week. Not sure whom ade the call on the kids ? Did it come from Granger maybe?

I understand there isn't a heap left to choose from after a few injuries in the A's. The U17s are training with the seniors twice a week, fronting up, so they warrant selection. Looks like the kids were good enough against SHOC last week but maybe just lacking that consistency this weekend just gone? They still had some good players there in the Bs so should have won if they were good enough.

Just because the u17 train with the seniors doesn't mean they should be picked. Especially when the season is on the line. At least 3 of them aren't up to b grade yet imo. I've been involved in alot of coaching and there is a time and a place to play the kids. If there is a stand out kid maybe that's different but not in this case.

Sitting 3rd and playing 5th placed Athelstone and SHOC just didn't show up. 135 to zip!

SHOC now an outside chance of missing finals altogether.

Broadview 4th - 20 points, 61.15%, playing 6th placed PHOS.
Athelstone 5th - 20 points, 57.95%, playing 9th placed Salisbury North.

You'd expect both to win, meaning SHOC currently 4th on 22points and a percentage of 55.64 must win or they'll fall to 5th.

SHOC playing 8th placed Old Scotch would consider themselves favorites, however I'm hearing the boys from Torrens Park are rallying the troops to finish the season with a W.

arent Athelstone stacking their C Grade

Their A's lost by 4 points, their B's all but ended SHOC's finals hopes after knocking them off as underdogs sitting 9th while SHOC were sitting comfortably in 4th, they're doing extremely well to remain competitive in their higher grades if they are stacking their C's.

All bullshit aside though, their A's (and the general div 2 competition) is very competitive, even though Glenunga is sitting 16-1, they have won by less than 4 goals eight times.

Scotch knock off Sacred Heart and then still go down to 9th and get relegated, that correct? Very stiff

Wowee, went and watched the Glenunga vs Iggies game yesterday - looking forward to these two potentially visiting each other again in the GF! Well fought game. Only negative were the Ignatius supporters cheering a Glenunga lad going down with a knee injury in the last few minutes. Pretty disgusting behaviour...

Rank speculation, but you'd think SHOC would have some blokes who feel comfortable at the Bay

Putting the 8 side comps to one side for a moment, have Iggies ever been in D1?

Going by their website dont believe so but not sure how up to date that site is

The Old Ignatians Football Club was formed in 1971 by past scholars of the College. It was incorporated into the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) in 1971, fielding one team in A7 Grade, which won every game for the season except the Grand Final.A Reserves side was added in 1973, and the Club won both the A5 and A5 Reserve Premierships in that year. The A Grade team won further Premierships in 1975-76, reaching A2 in 1977-78. During the 80's & 90's, the Club fluctuated between A3 and A4, with the A grade appearing in three Grand Finals, without success. In more recent years, the Club has settled in A3, in which the A grade have shown themselves to be most competitive.

The B Grade have enjoyed a tremendous run of success in the past few years, winning 5 Premierships on the trot, in what we believe is a SAAFL record. They have finished minor premier in 4 of those seasons, have a minor round record of 83 wins and 7 losses and have won 11 out of 12 finals. The C Grade was added in the late 70's, and, after a rather lean trot, have won premierships in 1995 and 1998.

Into another GF which is an incredible effort and rise to earning promotion to Div 1 (depending on what happens with the 8 team per Div proposal of course)
Div 5 premiers in 2017
Div 4 premiers in 2018
Div 3 premiers in 2019 (Coincidentally this years Div 2 GF will be a replay of that GF)

Can they win another one?

All the Glenunga love is great but in 2020 they were bottom and bottom by along way. They got a free look at div 2 and used it wisely For that they should be celebrated.

Just to point out I am not questioning what they pay how they pay it or anything else but suggesting their ability to weigh up the grade after a year was exceptional.
