Wonder if a Grand Final the night before the AFL Grand Final (like with the ROCS and Salisbury North Grand Final replay a few years back) or the Sunday after the AFL Grand Final is in the leagues contemplation. Could get in a 3 week Finals Series finishing before October and retain all 18 games that way.
Alternatively, could play a Preliminary Final on the night of the 24th or 26th and the GF on the long weekend (on the assumption if it's just D1 an oval will be able to be found.

Div 1 Grand Final was played on Sunday 4 October last year, so I can't see why they can't work towards having the GF on the October long weekend again this year. Prelim final on Sunday 26 September and GF on Sunday 3 October makes sense to me.
Finding the oval to play the game on October 4 is one thing, teams still training leading into the final is on grounds that are shared with cricket.
Cricket pushed their season back two weeks last year to accommodate footy, not sure they'll agree again this year just so footy can get a full 18+4, especially when cricket had to accept draws for their two week lockdown rather than push into the footy season.
(Don't get me wrong, I still think footy will do what footy wants anyway).
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!
Extremely clean and hard running. PNU the opposite and apart from a third quarter flurry looked like they hadn't played for two months rather than two weeks, particularly in the first half.
Commendable Covid safe set up by PAC too. Ample chairs available to let people imbide while the present directions in place
So with the league confirming a push to get the GF played on September 11th and waive the second half of round 14, will we see a different winner of the league medal, or is Trengove that far in front it wont matter?

Reckon they'd count the votes before making a decision on that just to be safe?

I reckon Nick Favretto from Goodwood is the only one who could upset him. I've only watched the Saints twice this year, but he would probably get the 3 votes in both of them.
I was in awe at Goodwood's game. To smash PNU in the midfield despite going up against Baulderstone. Then to plan the ball movement into completely avoiding Dill down back. Felt like they took him out of the game (Yet he's named PNU's 4th best? I barely noticed him other than a 5 minute stretch in the 4th after the umpire missed high contact on him (but lets be honest, he tried to milk it))
The amazing precision kicking is what won it. The switch to put Dill out of position at the other end, then the 45 degree kicks through midfield to penetrate the defence. Look, Prince Alfred might be the best team in the comp. But Goodwood is the best coached. Goodwood on their day (Which I have already seen when they bead PAOC) can beat anyone in this comp
Was it 25 that got player of the game ultimately? I thought 33 and 30 in defence and 20 off the wing played their roles amazingly and that gameplan is what brought down PNU. Particularly through these 3 players.
But then to dominate center clearances too. It looked like 1st vs 9th at times, not 3rd vs 2nd.
I really hope to see a Goodwood vs Prince Alfred gf. Shame it'll probably be 1st vs 4th in the semi final I'd also love to see a Prince Alfred vs St Peters gf after seeing the score at St Peters yesterday. But we can only get that if SPOC go 3-0 and rely on PNU or Goodwood losing all their games.
Goodwood are certainly playing well at the right time of the year. Looking very much like the first week of finals will be; PAOC v SPOC Goodwood v PNU .... leading to a PAOC v Goodwood GF Big game this week between PNU and SPOC. PNU looking at 3 losses on the trot. If SPOC lose, the winner of TTG v ROCS a slim chance to pinch 4th.

Does anyone know who will play Friday and who Saturday. Will it be 1v4 Friday night or 2v3
I have heard it will be 1v4 on Saturday and 2v3 on Friday night across the divisions, but nothing official.
Friday night is crap. Don’t play a night game all year and they dump a game on clubs for a prelim. Got blokes that are tradies and a BGrade game starts at 5:30pm. Absolute farce this finals series has become. Put the lower divs on Friday night and play the div 1 and 2 on Saturdays

Tradies? PAOC V SPOC on Frriday night .... problem solved?
