Re: 2021 Adel Footy League - Division 4
Was some nervous Pulteney folk at Haslam Oval Saturday when word filtered through that Woody South had a 6 goal jump on Hope Valley!
Woody South have put together two competitive efforts in the last two weeks - Gepps Cross at home this week shaping as a beauty.

That was a tough one to cop, should have put Morphys away early and were in front for most of the match, boys were gutted.

Just quietly there were a couple of nervous HV folk too. Couldn't hit a target to save our lives - and everyone would always kick to a contest where Ramah was. Not many win a one on one contest against Ramah.
Thankfully they got their shit in one sock in the third

Can we please stop with "folk"?
That's 3 times today, that's usually the half yearly quota.

I thought there was talk a while back, that if we had some COVID crap come up, the season would just be postponed and pushed out a couple extra weeks?

I think the D1 bye is this week anyway, nothing stopping them from pushing it out a week but they probably want to avoid any pushouts unless absolutely necessary - i dare say we won't know until Friday arvo if we're playing on Saturday.

This could be the most obvious comment i've ever read on this site at the moment, given all sport is cancelled until Friday at least.

Given 8-20mm is forecast for Saturday, it's a great week to keep everyone off the ovals as well.
They should cancel it now, let everyone know in advance, split the points and leave it at that, IMO.

It would be extremely difficult for clubs in any case.
No training, can't place orders for catering purposes until Friday if you're hosting plus many more little club relating logistical problems.
The AdFL is in a pickle on what is the right thing to do, there is no correct call as someone will be disadvantaged somewhere along the line.
Some women's divisions were due to start their finals this week too.
At the end of the day we have the right people in the right positions to make the call that is the best result for the league as a whole, I'm sure the decision will be taken out of their hands in the next 24 hours anyway.
I thought it was ridiculous for SA Health to use Friday as a day of decision making for community sports, should've just called it Thursday or Sunday to possibly eliminate the uncertainty for the broader community.
Going to be bloody hard to enforce restrictions for spectators etc. within 24 hours, just call it now.

Re: 2021 Adel Footy League - Division 4
If we split points.. Ladders after Rd 15:
25 - Pembroke OS
23 - Morphettville Park
23 - Wallerville
17 - SMOSH West Lakes
17 - Hope Valley
------------------------------
15 - Mitcham
11 - Gepps Cross
09 - Pulteney
07 - Woodville South
03 - Kilburn
3 games to go after this, maximum 6 points on offer, so the top would effectively be sewn up, and Gepps Cross finals hopes squashed. Pulteney would drop to $1.80 in the betting to get relegated.
B Grade
25 - Pembroke OS
25 - SMOSH West Lakes
25 - Walkerville
19 - Gepps Cross
13 - Mitcham
------------------
11 - Pulteney
11 - Woodville South
11 - Hope Valley
09 - Morphettville Park
01 - Kilburn
Top 3 secured, Gepps Cross also 99% locked away 4th place, a serious battle for 5th place unfolding - Mitcham would fancy themselves this week against Hope Valley, they appear the biggest 'loser' of the lot with Pulteney and Woody South scheduled against sides in the top 4.
C4 ladder
29 - SMOSH West Lakes
25 - Pembroke OS
25 - Adel Uni
15 - Walkerville
14 - Gepps Cross
--------------------
12 - Woodville South
11 - Pulteney
11 - Mitcham
05 - Hope Valley
03 - Morphettville Park
Draw makes it very hard for Pulteney and Mitcham to make the 5 - although only got themselves to blame for dropping games the should've won.

Precisely, no point getting worked up - it's only Tuesday, chances are this will evolve well before Friday anyway.
