I reckon you would carry on more during a Port game and the players would have a heavier emotional investment in the result.....its literally their entire livelihood including work, closest friends, paycheck, culmination of their training etc.

Much rather my bench have a shitload of energy and enthusiasm than sitting their yawning or discussing what $150k bottle of bubbly they are buying that night

Probably more suffice under the things I do understand now.

Copped by first ever absolute battering review on social media for the work that I do or in this supposedly haven't done adequately.

Definitely will make me think twice about the way I post/comment on issues, can definitely see/feel why it hits some sportstars/personalities harder than others, especially when incorrect facts are used but you also have to keep in mind and be sensitive to how you respond.

Now to try and find something super positive at work to do to change the mind frame.

Did not think I would say it this year, but will be picking North Melbourne

Their form the last few weeks is better than Gold Coast, and down in Tassie is an advantage.

I suspect the bookies have it right, the last 2 weeks has been some of the best footy we have played for 12 months, we are doing it for 3/4's where beforehand it was only a half or so at best. Some experience and leadership back from injury has helped also.

Some human beings...

I needed to pop into the bank this morning to sort out some financials.

On the way out of the shopping centre (Westfield Plenty Valley - sort of like Arndale/Marion) I stopped at one of those little bakery/café joints that are set up inside the shopping centre. In the middle of the walkway, not an actual café inside the shopping centre -Gloria Jeans type arrangement. They have a few tables and chairs scattered about the place, so some people choose to "dine in" while others get take-away.

I just wanted a coffee & a donught....the joint was busy, and I waited a few minutes before placing my order. There were others waiting around for take-aways who were in line before me. Clearly they were busy & the 2 young girls behind the counter were flat out, doing their best.

As I was waiting, I noticed a group (3 older blokes) sitting at a table to my right, and one of them was getting a bit animated... big bloke wearing a Macedonian track suit top. By the look of their table they'd all had a coffee, and it became clear the big bloke was waiting on a second coffee.

As time went on, another minute or so, and as he was getting louder.... he approached the young girl making coffee's and gave her a fair spray "I have already paid for my coffee, I have been waiting an hour..." in a very aggressive tone. I didn't hear what her reply was, but whatever she said set him right off. A guy sitting near him said to calm down, this sent him into a rage.....by this time the young barrister was in tears. I wandered over I asked the bloke if he was happy as the young girl is doing her best and is now in tears. He called me a ****. I said the only **** here is you, there are plenty of coffee places to choose from, if you don't like the service here go elsewhere...

As I walked away, another bloke has gone up to him, turns out is was the young girls grandfather.... he has given him a serve, and all of a sudden these 2 blokes are chesting each other, and the big Macedonian bloke has grabbed a chair........ here we go, it's on.

I asked the other girl behind the stall to call security..... by this time there was a crowd watching what was going to happen. Now if the chair got used, I was jumping in, but while he was holding it, I wasn't going to wear it.

Things calmed a little, but the 2 blokes who were sitting with the big Macedonian bloke clearly thought enough was enough, so they got up & left. So the big bloke followed them out. Security turned up a few minutes later, of course..... someone had video it on their phone & showed security.

The young girl was really shaken up, poor thing, geez I felt sorry for her.

There is no need to speak to anyone in the aggressive tone this bloke did. As I left I said to the young girl who by now had composed herself.... don't let one dickhead ruin your day, or put you off work.

To be fair I'd be angry if a lawyer was making my coffee and not a barista. ;)

Might be onto something. Pretty stupid to take Lockdown frustrations out on someone else subject to the same restrictions, but I guess logic rarely appears in people with anger issues.
