Interesting, Compass didn't support association football and the GSFL last year yet here they are. Wonder what they they will do this year.

Big supporters this year. Great to see these true locals like Hanniford making the squad. I heard that the mount compass dairy farmers association are super proud of him. 8th generation jersey farmer. Mount compass netballers aren’t as thrilled. No match for them = no pay

Funny you say that old Mutt Beach.
I’ve heard old Giannini has be trying to get involved as the association coach.
Keeps putting his hand up but gets told not yet mate.

Has it got anything to do with his abusive nature towards umpires and players (voice carry’s very well)
Also a specific incident with a committee member and an umpires room in the wine valley.

Has been told to cool his jets for a period

Anyone else heard anything?

Haven’t heard a thing??

Couldn’t be heard over the whinging of the mount compass women’s footy crew.

Wow!. Thought our family first man was the biggest flog in the gsfl but this compass women’s coach takes the cake. Embarrassing for an already embarrassed club.

Spare a thought for the 9 clubs who's coaches and football managers who spent the off season working to retain and recruit players players within the new salary cap and allocated points only to find out the goal posts got shifted just before the first bounce.

Compass to lose points and get fined for 2 breaches. They think they are smart but there’s a very solid bit of info that has brought them undone

Do they send the puppet to the meeting or is our favourite family first man gutsy enough to get out from behind the strings??

Care to share the "Solid bit of info" ?

Better let the clubs bring it to a head first, don’t want puppet master and his gsfl mates concocting a story between now and then

Now that the meeting is over can you all enlighten us on "THE VERY SOLID BIT OF INFO" or is it just a solid piece of crap that you have been spewing out of your gob. :vom:
I think you are full of your own info old mate play on... looks like its the women's turn now [-X

Lindsay Thomas has resigned as coach of Yank
Not sure if Tony & Matt Burgess are taking over the role?
Family matters was the reason for leaving. Might still play in a few weeks time?

Great win to Mclaren over Compass that we didn’t see coming. Noticed Pinyon didn’t
play would have helped things a little.
Willunga v Creek should be a great game this weekend. Creeks still got some key injuries so Willunga
should go in as favourites.

Sounds like no one got any answers but looks like Goolwa are now in trouble playing an unregistered player? They lost anyway so
imagine it’s just a fine? Anyone all over this one?

Mount Compass will receive no penalties for playing two players with incorrect point allocations or for breaching their player points allocation in matches.
Sam Haniford stays as a 1pt player, down from 2pts due to living locally.
Tom Dix approved as a 0pt player despite playing football elsewhere in 2018 and 2019.

Goolwa/Port Elliot Women’s have been stripped of their premiership points and score for from Saturday’s win over McLaren due to playing an unregistered player. The player in question played for the Magpies before moving to Aldinga and playing 2020 for them before joining South Adelaide for the SANFLW season. A clearance was applied for from Aldinga so South could clear her to GPEFC. The player jumped online and registered during the week - because she was able to register it meant there was no pending clearance. She played, Pies won. Turns out there was already two SportingPulse registrations for this player and she used the wrong one to register. Seems a legit mistake, some would say similar to Compass making a mistake by playing over their points allocation or playing players with incorrect points to their name.

The loss of points was appealed to no avail.

As an isolated incident, the GSFL got this decision right, rules are meant to be black and white. But for them to be super lenient with Compass for A Grade mistakes but to penalise a Women’s team who are in just their second year of competition and therefore more likely to make mistakes is ridiculous.

Go and **** ya self Kevin Curran & Terry Corcoran.

I’m sure it’s just the Women’s team as all who played for the A Grade men have played previously this season.

Hearing club stalwart Micka James taking the reigns at Yank? Has this been confirmed?

In a caretaker role with Joel Kay for the remainder of the year. Club could do worse than to give the gig to Micka full time next year. Ripping fella with great coaching experience with lads at the club already. Time to build from within.

Da Da Damian sounds like you know a bit about this situation almost like you have inside information...
Did the female play under a different registration like a different surname ?
To be abusive could be detrimental to your club old mate so I suggest you build a Bridges and get over it :^o

From FB:

The Yankalilla Football Club sadly announces that Lindsay Thomas has decided to step down as A grade coach due to family reasons. We thank Lindsay and Tony Burgess for their tireless efforts in their coaching roles. Lindsay will continue to play for the YFC when his body allows for it.

We congratulate Micka James on his appointment as our new A grade coach for the remainder of the 2021 season. For those of you who don't know Micka, he is a current A grade player and a Player Life Member of the YFC and will bring plenty of passion and expertise into the role. Micka will hand the coaching reins of the Senior Colts to Jesse Fitzgerald and Dennis Ker.
