Smashed a couple of the Deeds Brewing Day Dreaming in Summer on Sunday watching the footy. I would go so far to say Deeds brewing make some of the best beers on the market.

Their mid winter vanilla Porter is something else, the Fiery gates of Helles Lager is a summer smash hit, the Dad Jeans California IPA is worthy of bathing in like Cleopatra in milk. If you love your beers and haven't tried some of the Deeds range you best get some and pour it into your face.

They were before our time mate, I remember as a kid we'd go over to my aunty and uncle's on a Sunday and my uncle's brother would always wear them, his clangers were forever hanging out the side.

Yep, can almost still see my Uncle Russell's jatz hanging out of them as he lounged back on the sebel out door setting.

Found what I was looking for, we had a set of 4 of these in cream with brown corduroy cushions. That's where Uncle Russell's jatz came out his stubbies*.

Ha ha- the one at my mums place got recommissioned to a BBQ.

Gees we burnt some crap in those as kids. Mum used to make us suss out the backyards of the neighbours to make sure no washing was out before we got it going.

I used to chuck a can of fly spray in there knowing the old man would be cranking it up soon.

He'd go off nearly as much as the incinerator would, poor ole mum would cop an ear-bashing!!!

Sunday's in Boon's childhood :

Dad lops the head off a chook, a few quails if there was any excess to requirements. Chook gets strung up to bleed out on the Hills Hoist, Elsa or Echo the German Shepherd laps up the blood off the lawn.

The concrete trough in the laundry gets filled with boiling water, the smell of hot feathers permeates through the back of the house.

Mum preps the chook, spuds and trimmings and the roast is underway meanwhile the men folk are down the back filling the incinerator with the weeks offings that didn't fit in the bin the garbo's ran along and collected during the week.

Incinerator lit. Chook cooked. Dad mixing the St Agnes 2 parts to 1 part dry.

Memories.
