Oh great. I'm so happy that Centrals have lost another player and also so proud that we had a player drafted to the AFL.
in case you didn't realise I'm being sarcastic.
On the contrary, I actually feel pleased, for Corey, that he realises his dream of playing in the AFL.
I am also pleased, for us, that he has been drafted by an interstate club so will not be playing against us next year.
The team I feel sorry for is actually the Eagles (which is very unusual for me ) as they are likely to have a number of their 2020 players playing against them next year.
I also am quite irate at Port's selection of Goldsack as a 33 year-old 'rookie'. This shows that they lied to the SANFL about their reason for having all Power players play at the Magpies; it is more about bolstering their chances of winning an SANFL premiership than their AFL prospects. If the SANFL had any balls, they should make it a condition of the Crows and Power being in the SANFL next year that the old system of the 'internal draft' is re-implemented. All players drafted from SA should continue to play for their SANFL club of 2020 when not selected in the AFL side, and all interstate drafts should be allocated out between the SANFL clubs.
Cheers
This entirely defeats the purpose of the Crows/Power having a SANFL side. And say what you want about the Goldsack situation but I think its a smart move by the Power, lets them develop players under an experienced AFL head on and off the field.
