Perhaps on a slightly different tangent, a mixture of the same teams and the day of the game would put me off.
There's no way in hell I'd go to a Central v Eagles GF this year on a Sunday when its against Bathurst.
(And I'm on holidays, be even worse if I had work the next day).
If it was on Saturday I'd consider going, perhaps go for the ressies, leave early and go play lawn bowls.

They watched Bathurst with me.

I'd like to go and take photos but perhaps if numbers keep dropping away the SANFL will look at using a bit of common sense with their programming, its a long shot I know.

Wedgie, might do you good to watch a game of footy and just relax without having the stress of your team playing.

Two years in a row with Bathurst , the SANFL should consider scheduling the GF on a Saturday, Prelim Final on a Friday Night?

It's nothing we haven't heard before and I'm sure as Eagles we'll hear it again. It's always jokes about our supposed lack of support at games or it takes two teams etc. The joke is wearing thin how about coming up with some original material. If you supported a better club maybe you'd be able to watch a GF as a supporter of one of the clubs competing.

In fact, that is a typical response from NFC - without fact or reason. I've heard that same line before.

A better club hey? I would like to see what you base that comment on or does your team only exist since 1991 so you will use selective history as your arguement as your club has no history previously - much like Centrals who it appears some of their supporters think the SANFL and Football started in around 1995?

As long as Central are in the GF it will never be boring!! (at least to me anyway!) Between them, Central and the Eagles have played in less Grand Finals than any other two teams. This is just our chance to catch up! Seriously though, there should be a huge crowd there on Sunday week if it is a Central v Eagles Grand Final as the rest of you should be there to support your teams in the Ressies or Under 19 GF's.
Cheers

Mate last time I checked The Woodville West Torrens history only dates back to 1991 so I guess I can only base my thoughts on that period. I am aware of the previous history of the two clubs but as a merged entity we have only existed since 1991. I am damn proud of my boys achievements in that time and it can easily be said we are the 2nd best team in that time frame it's just unfortunate we have been matched against an even better side in the GF's otherwise we would have more flags to show for our success.

WTF!!! I 've finally found the perfect excuse for 69, 70, 74, 75, 77, 81, 82, 87, 88, 90 and 92....if only we didn't play better teams....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah if only North had not played better teams on the day in 1985 and 1986 we would have had 3 flags in a row :? :?

In fact, in 1980 Woodville would have been premiers if there weren't 9 better teams :D

Hell, what if North were the only team in the comp we'd be undefeated forever

..... sorry EHL but couldn't resist  ....

What I was saying tassie is that we've come across a very good side in CDFC and they have enjoyed a era of success much like the magpies 80's era. We have easily been the best team outside of CD in that time. Come back and talk to me Tassie when you have had as much success as we have.
