I reckon the Grand Final would've been this Sunday had the pox not played havoc with the season.

GF to be played in front of 25k this year at AO. Probably a good year for the Eagles to make it so less money is lost on ticket sales and alcohol consumption. Sales of pies will go through the roof though!

Still a chance of being increased isn’t it?Wedgie wrote:GF to be played in front of 25k this year at AO. Probably a good year for the Eagles to make it so less money is lost on ticket sales and alcohol consumption. Sales of pies will go through the roof though!
I thought I heard Marshall say it gets monitored after each game and could still be increased further

Re: SANFL 2020 Season
SANFL has announced the 2020 SANFL Statewide Super League Grand Final will be played on Sunday, October 18 with a crowd of up to 25,000.
SANFL also confirmed all major round matches in the three-week Statewide Super League Finals Series will be played at Adelaide Oval.
A Semi-Finals double header will be held on Sunday, October 4, followed by the Preliminary Final on Sunday, October 11, with up to 25,000 spectators permitted each match day.
With two minor rounds remaining, the race is still on for the coveted top two positions on the ladder and a double chance, with the Eagles already securing one spot and North Adelaide needing to win one of its final two matches.
The race for third and fourth positions also remains wide open, with Norwood currently sitting just out of the four but only one win behind South Adelaide and Glenelg.
SANFL General Manager Football Matt Duldig said it would be a great reward for the top four clubs and their players and supporters to have SANFL football back at Adelaide Oval with big crowds for finals.
“It’s a tradition to have the Statewide Super League Finals Series at South Australia’s home of footy, and now with certainty around availability, we’re thrilled to be back at Adelaide Oval in October,” he said.
Tickets for the Finals Series will be on sale via Ticketek from next week with an SA Health requirement for all ticketing to be electronic and all tickets to be pre-purchased online due to the need for contact tracing. Further details of on-sale dates will be available via the SANFL website.
Tickets will be $16 for adults, $11 concession for weeks 1 and 2 Finals; $27 adults, $22 concession for the Grand Final*. Under 18s entry is free.
Social distancing will continue to apply for all spectators at Adelaide Oval, with one vacant seat space between all issued tickets.
All finals will be televised live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus, with live radio broadcasts on SEN SA.
Every finals match, including Reserves and U18s Torrens University Cup, also will be available live and on demand on SANFL Digital Pass.
While fixtures for Reserves and Torrens University Cup are still to be finalised, the Reserves preliminary and grand finals will be played at Adelaide Oval as curtain raisers to the League, while all Torrens University Cup finals will be played at Thebarton Oval.

Back for another crack.
He didn’t quite finish the job last time
He’ll probably double the game entrance fee again to really put the SANFL in the grave

Re: SANFL 2020 Season
Sooooo week one of the finals will be Eagles v North for a GF spot and South v Glenelg for a Prelim Final spot.
Eagles looking awesome atm, North might have to play 20 or 21 instead of 19 to be competitive.
South v Glenelg should be good, my money would be on South.
Going to be pretty ordinary crowd figures with South and Eagles both there.

Re: SANFL 2020 Season
Just realised out of the 4 finalists only Glenelg were in the top 5 laast year. The top 3 were all outside the five last year.
Fair turnaround that.
Great effort by the Bays too as backing good seasons up seems to be difficult to do in recent times.

DARREN CHANDLER: I think they will be back. The intention is to have Port Adelaide and the Crows in the SANFL next year.

Yes, the SANFL wants them back in BUT does the crows want to be back in & where will the money come from to support a Power ressies team.

Re: SANFL 2020 Season
What is the logic behind the South v North game being on Sunday? There’s no AFL to clash with, all it does is give South and North a day less break than Glenelg and the Eagles.

Let hope PA and the AFC are not just let back in without offering something back to the SANFL. Lets hope there is an honest discussion about their re-entry other than justifying jobs at the SANFL. I don't think any SANFL club has missed not having them

SFL finals at Hickinbotham on Saturday.
Plus you still get the full week off as finals are played on the following Sunday. It’s only been a 14 week season, one less days break is stuff all.

Yes the break probably doesn’t matter as much and that makes sense with the SFL finals clash. Thanks for the info

Language has changed slightly. A lot to play out but if AFL squads go down to 35 I think it will be hard to justify their presence in the SANFL.

Re: SANFL 2020 Season
If they go with 35 players, can't see the AFL sides justifying the expense if they need 25 for a match day squad only leaves 10 players needing a game. Throw in a few injuries....Dutchy wrote:Booney wrote:Booney wrote:Darren Chandler will officially assume the position of SANFL CEO from November 16.
