Had the 3, 6, 7, 8 boxed in Doomben R 6, the 8 (30/1 rank outsider) gets up, the 7 (20/1 shot) runs second and the 6, (1.90 fave) doesn't run a place. The 3 is still running.....
Tri pays 3500 on STab.
FFS.
Sounds like most of my Saturdays, do you have a dip at roving tri's?
Yep, I do often, however I wouldn't have put the 7 and 8 in as rovers.

Na, I usually put the 2nd fave in as the rover, 1 or 8 in the dogs.
The dogs have been kind to me in the last couple of weeks since working out for $4 you get 22% for a rover and 3 others, the short distances favour the 1,2,7 and 8, worth a bit of play money.
I used to go well on the Wednesday punt, but I wouldn't have a bet until after work.
I've been having a few later in the day at work on Wednesday's and have gone shit, this week I waited til I got to the pub and won my first three trifecta's.
Had a bit of a spit at the pub at a new piss weak rule they've introduced without notice, went to finish my beer and piss off only to see another $150 coming my way from a $4 tri, my extensive knowledge of Tokyo racing paid off
Something like that, I'll rove the fave and pick sequential numbers around it or if the fave is an odd number I'll rove him and add the other odds.
Boxing the highest 2 or 3 number and the lowest 2 or 3 numbers has done me well too.
I've won more money in Asian races over the past month or so than I have in Aussie races, less analysing I guess, last night's race 8 win wasn't even that hard, paid near $1400 on Ubet and only $436 on Sportsbet...................winning.
Okay, so as punters we no doubt have our own rules/ideas/superstitions we adhere to. I knew a bloke who would only bet in multiples of 13, ie 49 each way or 76 on the nose... Some of mine are; Always take the top weight in each leg of the quaddie as one of my selections regardless of form or price I ruled a line through anything Steve Baster ever rode If the 7 dog is shorter in NSW compared to the other totes I back it Never cancel a bet

- Never cancel a bet - If I'm torn between two runners I'll defer to my jockey rating - If both have rated riders I'll back both. - Always Quin or Tri if I have multiple fancies in a race - If jockey has a very low winning strike-rate or I just don't rate them, I'll leave that horse/race alone - Never bet on OS races while sober

- Don't leave Oliver out of your quaddies in Spring - Never change your mind once you've picked one in a race - Throw something long in the last leg of a treble (when you could) or quaddie - Don't mark the ticket wrong

My footy tipping margin for the first game of the round is always multiples of 11.
6 to beat 1,2,3,4,5 (I won big on this when I was gasbagging one day and ran out of money and was about to leave, I had a few tickets in front of me and the missus said "are you gonna check them?" $1200 back for a $4 bet kept us there a little longer). Boxing 1,2,3,10,11
7 to beat 2,3,4 on the dogs boxing 1,2,4 on the dogs boxing 1,2,7,8 on the dogs in 300 metre races.
I like boxing sequential numbers for trotters.
A mate always chucks money on something that has the same barrier number as it's racing number.
I have mates that back every "Rose", another any "King".
The never change a bet thing is real.
My old man used to box 1 through to 10 every year in the Melbourne Cup, since he passed 7 years ago I've followed suit......................I've never won a cracker.
