Was this the umpire "chased" by players off the field?

I was told he was "escorted off" by SPOS for his own safety

I heard about this Monday apparently paying frees against Elizabeth for going into hard to get the ball and being aggressive. think he even made comment to one of the players no need to go in so hard also giving 50 metre penaltys at the right time too I here against the Eags. You shouldn't
be surprised mate. I didnt know there was a rule for unrealistic dangerous attempt when a player goes for a mark and gets both hands on it. And what a call he made with the deliberate out of bounds at the perfect time in the last minute to go which they goaled from and cost eliz the game.

Hit the nail on the head Robran. Every time I think about it, it just spins me out with some of the s*#t he was coming up with.
Even said to my fullback...."you just cost your team the game" after paying the so called free in the goal square.

I thought deliberate out of bounds didn't exist in the SAAFL anymore.
I may be wrong.

My side got pinged by a whistle happy umpire this year for deliberate. Bloody twat.

My understanding is there is deliberate if you literally face the boundary and put it over.. if the ball makes positive metres i.e roll up the ground and out then it’s not paid.

The amount of times I hear people at games yell “There is no deliberate in the Amateur League” is ridiculous. Clearly there is if it’s a league appointed umpire, however it needs to be blatently obvious without any other intention. I reckon I’ve seen 5 deliberates paid in the last 6-7 years.

It's been a Law of the Game for many years and just because the AFL has taken it to another level doesn't change the original interpretation for our league. We had a C grade league appointed umpire change his decision a few games back when he was told by a player there was no deliberate out of bounds. I was ropeable when one of our players told me after the game what had happened. Too many people getting confused with no deliberate rushed which is a fundamental law of the game despite what the AFL has done since 2009 after the Hawthorn strategy in the 2008 GF.

Cheers Bedge, personally i think take the pressure of the Umps and declare deliberate out of bounds extinct.

or use the last touch rule, used in other leagues and SANFL Juniors, works well IMO

Didn't know you were there mighty.
The grounds are not getting any smaller, even the postage stamp tests the legs these days.

I was sitting on the outer wing watching my cousins in the C grade play for Marion. I stayed for the first quarter of the B grade before I had to head to Modbury. Nice atmosphere up to that point and assuming it got better once the A grade started? Was good to see.

All and all a good game of footy played and also felt the umps were pretty fair for both sides. Probably the best umpires we've had all year.
Always hard to beat you lads with all three sides involved on your home deck. Unfortunately injuries killed us this year at the wrong time.
Blackfriars were simply just better than us.

Might see a little please explain to the league from a Southern Div 6 club after some unbecoming behaviour at Mitchell Park yesterday.
