If there is only one stand out team why were they thrashed twice?

Good question REB I was thinking the same thing. When the Cats thrashed the Roos we were saying how far they were ahead of the comp, now Port go out and repeat the dose so where are Port placed? That's why I think the 2 best teams are left and next week will be a great game.

the Kanga's recent finals record is not good

They have lost five of their past eight finals by more than 50 points, and two of their past three by more than 14 goals.

however, they totally deserved their position in the top 4, most experts picked the Kanga's to finished bottom 2, they lost their first 3 matches and also Thompson early in the season

during the minor rounds, they squeezed everything they could out of the list, fittness, work ethic and game plan, maybe if other clubs were able to do the same the Kanga's would not of made the top 4

I meant that Geelong were the stand out team.
North just happened to be thrashed by the top two teams.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Both the Roos and Hawthorn put in a good effort this year considering where they started, and the "experts" predictions at the beginning of the season, and I don't think either will be at the bottom next year. I guess a lot depends on recruiting and trading though, as it looks like being a busy period this time.

Port were a surprise packet, and have done well with their player recycling programme - something they do well. They are the only team likely to topple Geelong in the GF.

Roos are the third best team this year FULL STOP, lost 2 finals to the 1st and 2nd placed teams who are both in the GF

Doesnt matter if you lose a final by a point or 200 the result is the same....

argue that

The Roos have over achieved all year with a ordinary list , not one Kangaroo player would make The Powers starting 18 .

They must be seriously considering becoming the Gold Coast Roos or all they will become is a memory .

They would be better off with Sheedy to help generate more memberships and the move to the Gold Coast , Laidley would never get a gig at another AFL club and the greatest Roo of all Wayne Carey would agree with that .

well lets just say Carey had more creditability on field than he does off field, some of his comments in recent months have been ordinary

Correct, Carey's off field demeanour makes him look like a DH. Great player does not mean great commentator.

Hafey, if Port couldn't find a spot for McIntosh, Archer, Harvey & Wells to name four I'd be amazed...

serious question, where too for Wells

pre-season we both posted huge expectations for Wells, I know he has had injuries but it seems that he is struggle to move to that next level

he is a good player, but the Kanga's need him to be a GREAT player

agree, but Laidley said he has been playing on needles for the last half....needs to be less selfish.....strangely feel he might be a better player in the later half of his career than the first half ala Michael Long

Dutchy, mate, lets hope he can break through that barrier in 2008, I would love to see Wells flying and dominating AFL footy

I can't believe people say this type of thing about the Kanga's.
North are the battlers of the comp, less money, less members, less media coverage and worse facilities of any other side in the comp.
Yet for the past 15 years they have been there and about, winning flags, making finals series and, in the most part, exeding expectations along the way.
The thing I admire most about the Roo's is they always seam to respond after a bad season. Dutchy, how many times in the past decade and a half have the Roo's had 2 shocking seasons in a row? I'm guessing once maybe, if that. As a Non North Melbourne supporter I can honestly say that when the Crows play the Roo's I'm always nervous, forget the posistion they maybe on the ladder. That shinboner spirit thing they have going at the kanga's is something I doubt any club can replicate and is worth 2 games aseason to them. Hats off to everyone at Arden st, they have shown this season that they arn't just battlers but can play pritty damn good footy to. They would be disappointed with their finals series, as they should be, but they can be very proud of their year no doubt.
As a side note I believe the Kangas have been blown away by 100+ points in finals twice in the last decade only to come back and win the next week. Name one other capable of that type of fighting spirit.
Choco Williams Lives!!! We have seen the REVOLUTION come and go. You have "LIVED THE CREED". All you Power people are now gonna have to "KEEP THE FAITH". Slogan for 2010-11 PAFC.....or is it PAPFC.......I never get it right.
