Hold your heads up high Glenelg fans

To come back from the position you guys were in Round 9, and were only 7 points away from the Preliminary takes some doing. Your players played exciting footy from that point onwards, and always kept digging in even when they were behind on the scoreboard.

I thought that Glenelg were the better side today, your players certainly look more dangerous in the open, smashed us in the clearances, but footy can be cruel at times. I trust that these two finals matches will enhance the side come next year; so long as you keep most of your key players, I can very well see Glenelg go even further in the finals next season.

Once again, while a loss like that can break your heart, your players gave it their all, and I can see them going further next year. That's why Glenelg fans can still feel proud of your players.

given the situation we were in early stages of the season it is a good result, but given our form since we turned it around, todays result would make most of us suicidal!!!!!!!!!!

There are a lot of other things that are worse that make you suicidal. :(

Perhaps mighty tiger you might say the situation both Glenelg and the Eagles were in earlier in the year. That game at the bay was supposed to be for the wooden spoon.
Well done both teams to get to this final and then for the EAGLES to go to the next final.

I'm sure they are holding their heads high. I remember about 4-5 years ago at Woodville Oval, bad weather and the bays were struggling down the bottom of the ladder. They only had a handful of supporters at the game. One of them was this funny bastard on the hill with a couple of mates happy to mix it with the opposition fans and had them in stitches. Loyal to his team. I'm pretty sure from the photos on these sites that that guy was Rushby/Borat. To today view over the other side of the ground to the scoreboard and see the hundreds/thousands of black and gold fans adding to such a great atmosphere must be so rewarding for those guys loyal throughout all the years. Glenelg are heading in the right direction and as spelly said, I'm sure there will be plenty of success come their way in the near future.

Well done Bays. Beaten by a soccer kick from out of nowhere. That's footy. But so's being brave and gallant to the end, which you were. Good signs for next year. Let's hope those signs aren't like the promise shown by South last year! It's good to see Glenelg up there.

I'm bloody gutted. #-o

The mighty Tigers really showed their supporters some fight this year.
I am proud of them.
I hope the lads can regroup and with some good recruiting we can give it a decent crack next season.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

I reckon I was more gutted after this game because as a SANFL fan I was praying the Eagles wouldn't get in another GF.
Double whammy for me next week as even if it was Port I'd be barracking for them to make the GF something different.

Well if north are good enough they should be playing in two weeks .
And if they do then its how all teams finished end of minor round.

Not quite, we throw that out the window last weekend when we came up against a side that wasn't prepared to fight like you blokes were today...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Cheers Aerie, it would have been Pseudo for sure and probably me as well.

My missus asked me whether I was upset after the game, i wasn't really, i was quite proud as I think the GFC have finally got the chance to return as a force to the SANFL.

The nucleus of the team is young, the magoos and 19's are both in the prelim, and allegedly/hopefully we will be actively recruiting some very good players next year.

We have been slowly climbing the ladder (6th last year, 4th this year) and I believe that the club has the right people in the right positions to keep the climb going.

I hope.

Mickan offered up no excuses @ pressos, he said we simply weren't good enough.

Special praise from me to our Captain Ben Mules, who after being knocked out came back on to take possibly the mark of the season.
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

Mark and Ben also spoke extremely well when they visited our rooms after the game. I believe the Tigers are in very good hands.

If North won today, two weeks later would certainly have been different to the three years gone.

Was working so the best i could get today was text updates and the old man rang me from 20mins into the 4th with the radio going....pretty bloody gutted at the time, but have had time to digest it and, all in all, things are looking good. Was good to have a yarn with the old man at the end and share our disappointments really

The club has turned a great corner in 2006/07 and we now have something to build on to make sure that jumper is once again feared within the SANFL.

Am now sweating on any outs for 2008....
