It depends, if it were the Port Adelaide Magpies then I'd barrack for them as I have respect for them and their supporters who have stuck by their succesful club, I can't but help respect that club.
I have issues with the supporters that jumped onto the turquoise ship who have done slightly more than stuff all.

As have said elsewhere, I have a democratic right to enjoy my state bias/loyalty, regardless of whether other misguided souls think the AFL was genuinely set up as anything but a Victorian state attempt to dominate and control Australian football. If there had been a genuine national competition run by a genuine national league rather than an expanded and rebadged VFL, then it might be a genuine club competition.

Ignorant man, that's the same opinion insular people think here too and its embarassing.
If you were so state alligned you'd barrack for Brad Ottens, Mark Jamar, Pavlich, etc.
It's club footy and has nothing to do with states and if you fall for that you're no better than idiots like KG and Cornes.

Using your philosophy I should only barrack for South Adelaide, Sturt and Glenelg as they're south of Adelaide and I've only lived south of Adelaide. That's pissweak IMHO.

If you have always supported Port fine. If you support them cos they are from SA then that is just stupid. Yay they are from SA  They are still Port FFS. You do have a right to support who you choose but a Norwood fan supporting Port :? I bet most Legs fans would be embarrassed to have you as one of them.

I barrack for PP as well in the AFL [as well as SK+ AC]
I dont consider them as the SANFL PA magpies
They are a SA based club which I supPORT when AC+ SK are not playing

As a NW supporter I have never ever hated PA in the SANFL
But thats just me
If people want to support another team as I do with PP thats ok
If others want to hate PP thats thier perogative

Whats all the fuss about, we live in a Democratic society ?

Most AC barrackers will barrack against PP if they play GE in the g/f
I thinks thats absurd but wont criticise what people want to do
I will cheer the power in a g/final

Support who you like mal. It's your call. I for one could never support Port Adelaide in any form they present themselves in. If you are prepared to lower yourself to the "support the SA side" philosophy then go for it but don't get your hopes up.

I'll be the first to admit that Collingwood had a good year...OUCH.
But none the less, that will be as far as I go in regard to congratulating them or
their supporters.
The day Collingwood people come out and sing the praises about Carlton is the day
I may change....hell they still whine about Harmes' efforts in the 1979 GF...
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

If collingwood had of beat geelong and they were playing port I wouldn't be support either it is the same for WC vs. Sydney I did watch as a football fan. But I supported no one. I only support Geelong in the AFL I might go along to an AFL match and barrack for one team but the feelings are not there like they would be for the cats.
Collingwood have a good launching pad for the next few years. IF they get Judd they will be a top side. it is a matter of wait and see. It was good to see Eddie cry after last night but I felt Collingwood were playing more on emition for Big Len than anything else did you see their banner last night. I felt it was a excellent tribute.

We always jump on people who have an 'SA state' view of the Power and the Crows. I can't support Port myself but many do support both. So what? We shouldn't judge them as being any less of a supporter than someone else. It's just a POV they choose to have about the 2 SANFL representative teams in the AFL.

Back on topic, most were writing Collingwood off after round 22 including me. But they proved me wrong in the finals and have a good bunch of young guys on their list.

It's easy to see why they want Judd and are prepared to give up some players to get him. As someone said, put a fully fit Chris Judd in last night's side and we might have had a different result.

Have Didak and Buckley played their last games for the club?
In between signatures .....

I'll keep it simple. I barrack for Norwood and the Crows.

However, I will barrack for the Power as my third option, because I want to, because I am proud to be South Australian and support South Australian teams, and for the Power because my wife supports them due to family loyalty. She also supports the Crows when they are not playing Port - we support each other and SA.

I might - just might - be able to bring myself to support the PA Magpies against any non-SA team too. If any of you guys are naive enough to think it is not about state rivalry you need to live in Melbourne and listen to the local media for a while!

I'll respect the choices you guys who feel otherwise about it make, but make it mutual respect please!

I look at the AFL as a club competition, not a state v state comp

In regards to Port, they are the Crows biggest rivals, and to maintain this rivalry I just can not go for Port

If the Bombers were playing Port in the GF, who would the true hard Carlton supporters barrack for.....

The Port v Crows rivalry is very healthy for football

Most of my family is actually Power supporters, and they were certainly supporting the Hawks in the elimination final, it all adds to the rivalry

Fair enough, and I think I will too when a few more Melbourne clubs are relocated and/or merged, and the commentators and journalists here are no longer parochially Victorian in their outlook. Perhaps moving or rotating the administration might help too...

At the moment the clear barracking for the Vic. teams of commentators on Vic. radio stations gets up my nose. On a personal level I get on well with acquaintances who barrack for Essendon, Geelong, and even Collingwood.
