If it helps I agree with you Grahaml.

I think "potentially" North have just about the best squad going around, hence why I was so annoyed not too long ago when they were underperforming. Sides don't win finals on potential though.
As you said when looking at a side on paper you also have to look at what they've done and the Dogs are miles in front in that capacity.
They didn't win the minor premiership by a country mile for nothing.

I agree with Graham.

North have a very strong side but what has it achieved when you compare it to Centrals? Just looking at the Dogs line-up I would think on experience it is a better side by a reasonable bit than North's team but it is no more talented or skillfull if you look at it from that point of view.

It is hard to find a weakness in any of Centrals lines whereas North still a little suspect in terms of some youth in defence. Centrals also have the battle scars and medals to prove it is the rightful favourite. North have the potential but the time has well and truly arrived to push past potential and make themselves the genuine flag favourite by winning this week.

Still is is just 21 different shaped men on each side that will rely on past experience, team work, mental strength and luck that will determine the winner. The best team on the day will win regardless of who starts favourite!

I think the X-Factor is Ben Hart. He is playing sensational footy at the moment. We all know he is one of the greatest footballers of the modern era in any league, but most thought he was finished. Unfortunately for every other team he is playing his best footy right now and every North fan must be licking their lips that he chose to go around again. North have the capability of winning the premiership on the back of his performance.

Also, interesting to note all 3 SANFL journalists picked North and 2 of 3 picked Glenelg this weekend...

I am very suprised that any of them picked North??? I'm confindent we can win if we play 4 quarters of pressure football but we still haven't proved anything?

Centrals finished 5 and half games clear on top beat us two out of 3 AND have played in the past 7 GF's. Surely that alone warrants them to start favourites!

Thanks for the support, guys. Just seemed bewildering tome someone would say North were better on paper.

Anyway, North's defense does look like the weak link. And in a final that becomes so important. Perhaps this will even be the deciding factor. Roy would have spent the last week thinking of how to combat Ben Hart so if he lines up (and I think he will) we will have a plan. If he doesn't then that's a big win.

Dogs are deserved favourites, and everything suggests they are the more likely of the two to win. Partland is a former CDFC official I believe, and therefore doesn't like to give any unnecessary ammo to the team opposed to the dogs. Usually tips the dogs to lose unless he just can't make a case for the opposition and even then he tips a margin of 10 points or something.

Well said and agreed on all fronts.
Talking about our defence just a point of interest for those who haven't seen much of North, keep an eye on Cubillo, I'm really impressed with this kid in defence, when the ball was down the other end last week I noticed he was the only defender giving stick to the bloke he was standing on and he's got awesome skills, I had him in my best 3 last week.
Few extremes in the backlines (if Hart plays) age wise.
