FACTS ARE: Simper played juniors for PHOS and subsuquently went to play for Brighton, the amateurs did not have any records that stated he had played a senior game, where he in fact had played 1 in 2004 (can you believe it goes back this far) hence he was cleared straight away to Brighton. The end result is that there was a clerical error from the amateur leagues side of things that will not affect this weeks game.. Emu's v Bombers...

The information of this game played in 2004 was leaked to someone from Reynella who decided to act on it...

I'll leave the rest of the forum to decide on how Reynella have acted... CASE CLOSED..!!!!!!!!!!!

Last bit from me just so everyone is on the same page the original information was given in an off the cuff joking manner by a bit of lair who is not an official of PHOS.

fly, you call the Emus (precious and untouchable). Now I'd use my words wisely if I were you. Firstly I'm neither a Morphett Vale player or supporter but I do respect what they've done in recent times. To call them precious is just silly considering they've won the last 3 flags and from what I've seen they're probably the hardest at the ball in the competition. 'untouchable'... not sure what context you are using this but if that's how you all feel at winefly park there's probably good reason why your club has no recent A grade flag hanging up there.

[quote][/Agree with you totally Aflflyer. These little piss ants get off writing absolute crap. How could you possibly sling crap on a another club when you dont know the full story. Hey rock has your phone starting ringing yet! My guess is that it hasnt. You joke!

magic, I think its pretty evident what the story is. Granted the full story will come out in due course. I would not say everything posted is absolute crap (some is... most isn't). Calling people piss ants is just stupid, if you read back through my posts you'll find I don't directly insult anyone. And as for my phone ringing, it does plenty of that considering my role at my club. To call me a joke... well okay, but I think the joke is on the RFC for pursuing this matter. The damage is done.

Magic... sounds threatening, you are obviously a very sensitive individual... maybe a little unstable. Settle down champ, my intel is very solid and is backed up on here regularly by other posts. The FACTS come out and all of a sudden you get a little upset. As for me revealing my identity a). Thats not the idea of this forum, and b). even if I did I'm not really bothered by some circling flys. Have fun champ... bye.

No need for those sort of threats Magic.

Debate the issue by all means, but no need for threats.

Well if that is true (And only if it is true) about how Reynella reacted after last weeks loss then that is some of the most gutless and pathetic acts of jealousy I have heard of on or off a football field. Imagine if the case was over turned, what a joke. How could the players and the club walk to the ground today knowing how they got there.....Total lack of sportsmanship. Im sure the Reynella B's will cop it all day today.

Sounds like a mess!

Put it this way, if a club from another league fed you information (albeit only part of the story) and it was implied that the penalty would be that the offending side would be booted out of the finals then wouldn't you get the wheels in motion to have it investigated just in case?

Truthfully, you would probably say yes. As the details have emerged, it would have been discovered that there actually wasn't a case so the issue fizzled out. It happens a couple of times every year around the nation so it is not a new issue.

From personal experience as a sports administrator, you are duty bound to at least look into any complaints as that is what you are paid to do ... run a competition for the sake of teams and ensure that it is managed in a fair manner.

Looking at the posts, it was stated that the alleged external club was looking to maximise the damage (something few people have picked up on) and it is quite possible that the information was passed on as recently as the day of the PF.

My opinion is that RFC should not be shot down until the FULL story comes out down the track and not when just a piece or two of the jigsaw emerges.

Its not over yet - the SFL is considering bringing RFC back in for a meeting to discuss a charge of bringing the game into disrepute.
Have been told not happy having a lawyer in until 10.00 Thursday night before G.F with a matter that should have never got as far as it did.
Just for the record Reynella As did not train and most not happy about the whole thing..

... and if due processes were not carried out and it was found that there was a problem in the first place, the League would cop it from all quarters (especially in the media).

IMO, laying a charge like that would be foolish and would cause tension between the League and the club (or even more than one club) and could result in an unfortunate situation for all down the track.

And if due processes were carried out by the club to find out before they went to the league it would have saved Reynella a lot of embarassment surely someone down at Reynella is smart enough (hard to believe but has to be at least one brain between them) to realise that he had played almost 2 years at Brighton and has represented the association? I feel sorry for the players who will wear the brunt of opposition supporters next year! But not too sorry!

ZC, I appreciate your argument but there are two points (1) Reynella don't have the paperwork at their disposal to check it first before lodging a complaint and (2) as you said a bit of due diligence was needed.

Point 2 wasn't followed thoroughly yes that's probably true, but if an external club involved in the situation said to RFC that point 1 was done wrong, then they have the right to have it checked out to make sure that the player was legit to play for Brighton.

who know ZC maybe they would have, or HV or Cove might have thats for sure! It doesnt get mentioned as it is not common knowledge with everyone, that HV and Cove backed reynella on this challenge.

At the end of the day some Reynella officials probably shouldn't have pushed it as much as they did - but shit happens. People also forget the challenge Brighton made against HV which got them kicked out of the season and into a GF last year, I don't hear people jumping on the bombers back? lets all build a bridge. this will be forgotten in a year.

can't wait for the game tomorrow! should be a ripper!
