Fair dinkum get your head out of your a** mate. There is no way that CLG would get anywhere near Fitzroy and Adelaide Lutheran.I have seen div 7,have played div 6 (And SFL as a teen) and the jump from div 6 to div 5 is huge let alone the jump from div 7 to div 5.I am man enough to admit that Fitzroy would go no where near Salisbury in div 4 and SMOSH in div 3.Central United went through div 6 with no one getting within 5 goals of them all year in 2006 and just crawled in to the div 5 finals in 2007. By the way just a pointer on the odd occasion that I have met Zedman he would have one of the most intelligent footy brains I have come across.I think hes played div 1 if my memory serves me correct aswell.......

Mighty Hounds to answer your question yes we was pretty bad this year, didnt have our first training until rd 3.... could barely fill 2 sides every week so had to drop our b grade, 8 people max at training which was only once a week and no committment from the boys.... all they wanted to do was fight on the weekends and not play footy, also doesnt help when our so called gun players want to get paid every game and cause there is no money go and play else where

Are you serious?
Mate CLG would challenge and push both those sides in Div 5 with the side they got now.
Didn't CLG play Mitcham in a trial and belt them by over 100 points?

Please don't take this the wrong way Kaurna....

Why do you it is sides started to get Aboriginal footballers together don't work?

You guys have struggled, before you there was Adelaide Tigers and going back 20 years ago there was Kaurna United in the CDFA. All ended sadly.

Even up here in the Riverland there was Gerard, then a side called United.

What happens to all that pride and skill that we see at other times when teams get together on the footy field?

Maybe this is too big a question for this forum.

But I'd love to see an Aboriginal club succeed in its aims of forming a solid, stable and proud club. Just imagine the skills on display!

Although that is a good comparison. When GG and Blackfriars go up that would give you a better feel.

Central United although crawling inot the finals were still competetive which is the point of the promotion system. But to Say CLG would match it with the top div 5 clubs, thats a bit much. Im sure CLG with that team will go very well in div 6 but lets not get carried away here.

Gday all. Is Div 7 footy better than the C1 or C2 comp? Are there any really rough sides in Div 7 footy or pretty clean? Cheers.

the way i see it is you have 1 or 2 Aboriginals playing in a side and they look good cause they have 20 others players willing to put in the hard 1%'s but when you have 22 "stars" on 1 team than they all expect the ball to be spoon fed to them and not put in the hard work...... also cause we are playing with family ect a majority dont think they need to or have to train cause they where good 5 years ago. dont know if that makes any sense

I can see what you're saying. And have seen it in action. It's a sad thing. Anyone who can bring a team together, harness the individuals and instill discipline will indeed be a legend.

What is Mallee Park's secret?

Jack Johncock (Graham's Dad) and a few others try their best to keep the majority on the straight and narrow even then they still have some loose cannons with one reportedly drinking beer and talking on a phone whilst playing a prelim final

will also add that things may change in the future if the stories of the youngsters getting hooked on an extremely hard drug are true

That's not loose!
That's character - he'll be able to tell that story for years!
Was probably kicking a goal at the same time!

Played with a cricketer once who was listening to the Cox Plate on a transistor radio in his pocket, and pumping his fists as his horse saluted, all while the bowler was coming in to deliver!

Malley Park are a stable club and have been around for years.... plus look what they have produced in the AFL.... and even SANFL.... most of the boys there would consider it a priveledge to play for Malley Park and a stepping stone towards greater things. Plus i think if you dont train there than no game..... them rules dont apply for Kaurna.

Also you right about us being in div 4 we had a pretty good side than, after that everyone wanted the $$ and cause no money coming to them they left... would think playing for your community would be enough

Nah mate - no room for that sort of thing any more. It's the same where ever you are - there'll be a percentage that will play for free, but there'll be a percentage who want something too.

Div 4 is the highest
when playing for rosewater they started in div 5
first 5 weeks didnt win a game
went in to the turn after 9 games i think 2 and 7
didnt lose another game for the year
scraped into the finals and won the gf against salisbury by 20 goals!
massive turn around from when they started the year!
Some like to say Arrogant, I like to say confident.

yeah thats true alot of players want to be paid..... but when your sitting at the bottom of div 7 getting belted every week and still expect to be paid $50 a game is a bit rough......

The year we won div 5 was a good year if only them boys stayed around might not be in this situation..... but also Kaurna is bad managed ....
