Surely 10 blokes can beat up 4 kids.

Social distancing won't allow it.
Could throw rocks at them maybe?

Nah the kids will be better from all the practice in the Gulag lol

Early June start would make sense as by then fingers crossed we would be well beyond the 28 days since last infection.
Most amateur clubs and their players should be working towards a june start and keeping themselves fit and ready to go.
It is not necessary to have 4-5 weeks training prior at community footy level as even during a normal season plenty of blokes turn up 2 weeks prior to the season run a couple of laps and put their name up to play.

I agree with this. The less time spent on a ‘pre season’ or ‘trainings prior to round 1’ means the more minor round games that can be played.
I think clubs and players are more likely to be able to salvage something out of the season if there is more minor round games in the fixture.
If it’s a 6-8 round season and a team starts off 0-3 fair chance the season is all over and guys will probably consider the season a write off

i agree too - some guys have been training since November... get the games going as soon as possible while there's still the enthusiasm around the place

Improvise.. shouldn't be too hard for BBQs and Bars/Canteens? Just limit the product, quick, easy, disposable.

Would think clubs will follow similar strategies to coffee shops and other takeaway shops I guess.. people can still grab a feed and drink, just don't congregate around the bar.

Clubs will be given guidelines as to what is required and it will be policed
You might need to find a couple more MDOs as well

Is it the end of water boys at footy matches? Cant be safe anymore, everyone will need their own bottle which is impossible during a match.

Surely they just put a line through the season and worry about next year. Clubs will be running at a loss each week if they have a limit on how many people can attend games etc. It will hurt clubs more than benefit them if the season goes ahead with restrictions..
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

its never been "safe" to share waterbottles, there were viruses before covid..these days at least most are squirt type set ups..we may need personalized bottles, just something else we will have to make work..if anything there could be more water carriers than ever for individual bottles..

Have to agree at this point, how do they judge the amount of people on match day, you have a triple header as most clubs do these days thats around 70 players for the club already there, then coaching staff, team officials and trainers, probably puts you up to about 85, followed by umpires, scoreboard attendant, you are pretty close to 100, and that just from the host club, going to be a logistical nightmare, think my counter is going to go into overdrive lol

Going by the 3 stages outlined its hard to see a start before July. If it is a 20 person limit starting on June 8, how do you play community footy?

8 June limit of 20 but still social distancing with no spectators. What chance of any season?

They are only guidelines and it's been said stage 2 & 3 will be scoped out/fine tuned further in coming weeks.. let's not get our knickers twisted yet, plenty to play out - still got a whole month of May to go yet.

Next changes will be on or after June 8 which includes sports transition to competition without spectators with a maximum of 20 persons
