I’ve been quoted to get my border collie desexed & have his third lot of shots around $500

Cheers. I just rang 'Adelaide Desexing Clinic' and they quoted $265 if he's under 20kg.

I paid about that from memory.
We got some other shots for worming/fleas etc at the same time that were due so all up it’s was about $450.

I checked with another vet that and they quoted me $265 just then too.

Yep, no thanks. It's rare to get any time in my house to myself, so I'd be doing everything in my power to be ALONE.

She just don't get it!!

When we book a little getaway she invites those who I'm trying to "getaway" from!

WTF???? Nothing spices up the romance like bringing all the kids.

Anyone know how long it takes to charge up a car battery with a 240v battery charger?

Car battery went flat as kids left the bloody interior light on.
RAA jump started me no dramas but I need to charge up the battery to get it back to full capacity.

What is it in?

If you've got 4 amps feeding in it might take up to 24 hours to fully charge. You battery will probably be 40-80Ah so @ 4 amps / hour anywhere from 10-24 hours.

See above.

Check what amps the charger is putting in and how many Ah the battery is.

It’s a 4 amp charger.
It tells you when it is fully charged thankfully.
Im going to leave it 12 hours then turn it off as I don’t want it charging overnight.
From memory you can over charge these batteries and they’ll explode as they’re all sealed these days.

Correct.

You should be right with 12 hours @ 4 amps, you'll certainly get it started with that tomorrow morning and if you have a drive to work the alternator should charge it fully.

We have just done 3rd party at the moment, car is only just under $4k, would cost over $1k pa for full comprehensive insurance, I cant see the value in doing that. We are going to get him to save the difference (about $50 pm) to self insure to a degree.

My 17 year old daughter wanted to self insure, we suggested putting the car in mine or her mum's name for insurance purposes but she wouldn't have a bar of it, she's too independant.

She asked me on the weekend if she can move to Melbourne for a year once she finishes Year 12 as she's been offered a good job that she wants to fulfill as a gap year before starting uni.

I can't see her coming back for uni once she gets a taste of the money she will potentially be earning.

Does anyone know what the percentage tax rate is when you cash out long service leave?

I thought I heard once it was 49% but I could be completely wrong.

My understanding is it will be treated as normal income tax unless a redundancy or termination has occured. An increase in percentage depends if it puts you into the next tax bracket. The most you'll pay is 45% if that given pay period times the amont of pay periods per year equates to over $180000 per annum. Go to pay calculator and add the Gross total of LSL to your normal wage and pay cycle.

Like LMA said.
It’s just your normal tax rate unless you go up a tax bracket with the extra income.
