A Feast or a Meal of it ???

Postby LPH » Mon Sep 17, 2007 9:08 am

Well, that's the latest ERA over with

Am happy to recieve your undieing love now, Toodle-pips

In all seriousness, can I say this about yesterday ?

1. Wedgie & Stampy I was 'blind' by that stage, started at Jeffcott St. Pub @ 11:30am
2. Blues were unlucky to lose
3. North's last 10 mins of the 3rd Quater was OUTSTANDING
4. The umpiring has been AWFUL ALL YEAR (stop moaning you Eagles lot, looks bad when you blame maggots) :(
5. Both games were GREAT advertisements for the quality of SANFL footy, in VERY trying conditions. :)

Finally...

TODDLE-PIP, TODDLE-PIP, TODDLE-PIP, TODDLE-PIP etc. ad norsium
(And we all wave bye - bye to the Big Blue Bus as it crashes into oblivion for another year)

Well LEH, your predictions made five weeks or so ago were almost spot on. Port let you down!

As for the name of the topic you've put down, there's no way I can blame Feast for yesterdays loss. He was clearly in our top three for the day and without him we wouldn't have lead for 95% of the game.

Without him next year I'm really worried about how we'll go...

Please, please play on Big Fella...

The topic is in NO WAY a payout to SF, just a play on words.

The predictions were made based SOULY on my understanding of the ladder, the draw & the fact that Sturt have a VERY young side. In general that means pressure causes issues.

Time for Feast , Weatherald & Nelson to retire. Sometimes you just have to realise it is time to go.

I've only seen a handful of Sturts games his year, but I'd agree on Weatherald, not too sure about the others though, I thought they played some reasonable footy.

Is there anyone more frustrating at Sturt than DeLuca? This kid could be absolutely anything but I reckon he goes missing far too often.

The SANFL want a Glenelg v North Grand Final as we all know a Centrals v Eagles clash will be a crowd failure.
Glenelg v North will bring a near full house to AAMI stadium. The umpires will make sure the Eagles don't go pass this weekend.
Centrals haven't played a game for two weeks and North are looking pretty damn good.

So at around 3pm on Sunday it will be TODDLE-PIP to the Eegirls for season 2008!

Feast was very close to BOG last Saturday. I was impressed by the amount of times he mopped up and saved Sturt's bacon throughout the year...
IMO would have to be one of the best defensive marks in the league...A ruckman and a CHB in one...
Sure he can't jump, but his smarts far outweigh Deluca.....one more year please Feasty (just pull a hammy when you play the Bays  ).
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Feasty has been great all year and Nelson also, he's ripped it out of centre heaps of times and I'd think he'll poll pretty well in the Magarey despite missing games, Weatherald has been used off the bench nearly all of this year and not because of injury more so as a burst player, not sure it's worked that well though, they all should go another year in my opinion.

ML, what do you base this on? I am not there, but going on the match results where those players have played as opposed to those where one or more were out, and the DVD's I had sent over from Oz, and the thoughts of the majority of people on the footy forums, it looks as though that trio actually lifted this year, and carried us through many a game.

As much as I dislike Feast's ruck style, he was clearly best on ground on Sunday. His work around the ground is better than any other on the Sturt team. Would be a travesty if he hung up the boots.

true theri, Feasty and Nelson have been very good this year, Bens first half of the season was outstanding but injuries slowed him down late in the season, and Feasty has had his best season for a while and is still clearly our best ruck option

Weatherald has been used in a different role this year, coming off the bench as a bit of a pinch hitter and I thought he has performed his job well, comes on and gives a bit of a spark when needed, could possibly prolong his career for an extra season or 2, not sure if he could get to 300 games though although it would be nice but he would need to play the next 2 seasons without missing a game and then start a third season

Of course they'll all go around again! Have a look at the tape and you will see Tim Weatherald didn't back out of anything. He was hungry!
These three lads will do it again, why wouldn't you after this season?

Way off the mark ML. Feast & Nelson stepped up a cog this year and needed to with the lack of experience in the side. Weatherald is a bit of a question mark but I think he still offers enough to go again next year. To lose these three players in one hit would see us take a step back next year. Such a young team needs these wiser heads around them...

I think SOS has already signed for next year - I think he signed earlier in the year with Sheeds.

Feater needs to play as we are a different side with out him - but may need to be managed a bit better with his ageing body !!!

Sadly though it may be the end for little Timmy !!!

Not looking for a fight Pseudo(or anyone), but from a neutral fan last Sunday.Feast dropped a hell of a lot marks, and spent lots of time on the bench .Was he in fact fit ?
And I know you didn't mention Nelson Pseudo. But others have in this post and he appeared to be going after the man more than the ball from my vantage point.
