Way ben Hart has played the last few weeks I think you can guarantee there has been a few groans down at Cows land, he has showed them that he still has it in him, albeit he is dominating in the SANFL, there is no doubt whatsoever that he would still hold his own in the AFL, probably more so than a few in the Cows at the moment

$300k a year would be quite under valued for a no.1 ruckman I would think. I dont think too many no.1 ruckman would be on very little. Its not excessive at all.

Yes, I'm sure the crows would have been really excited to pay him all season and have him start playing footy after the mid season break.

Agreed Macca, and that doesn't even take into account that Huddo has been the leading hard ball getter for the Crows, it shows he's either an exceptional player or the rest of his team mates are exceptionally soft.

Good point, much better of paying Biglands all season only to have him start playing football never.

That's an entirely different situation, wedgie and I reckon you knew that when posting.

Biglands was injured after signing a contract to provide services this season. They had to keep him on. Hart was cut, with a prediction that he would not be of high value to the Crows due to injury. They predicted correctly.

Probably has the pace to go with Buddy too lol ... Ok, now before all Crows fans jump on me, I thought Benny's axing at the time whilst sad, was necessary.

Problem was, he appeared to be the only player of age that they moved on, which was bewildering and disappointing to say the least.

To get back on topic, best of luck to Huddo ... Having always had a soft spot for the ruckmen I always enjoyed watching him play ... Right from the word go he had the fire in the belly and was always competitive despite giving away height advantage most weeks.

One of the best ruckmen to play small in recent times too.

Word is he and Kenny have a least 4 mates who want to go too.
Some weird happenings down at Cowland.

Also entertaining reading most of the Cows fans opinion on Bigfooty, no wonder players want to get out of there. :?

Wouldn't read anything into it, and knowing Rucci he's probably just being mischievous, but he actually included a one line comment in his "Roast" this morning about Scott Thompson's name being bandied about.

Well at least if Thompson did get traded - he might end his stupid counter crusade. Build a bridge.

Be gold if he went to Port though...

Nah, haven't heard Gilly.
Have heard Mattner, Meesen, Perrie and Jericho definately aren't happy.
Some other rumblings but I'm not sure if they have anything to them.

what a turn around

so many of you members frequently posted this year, that Hudson was over rated as a ruckman, now your saying give him what he wants

others have said that Adelaide have not been respectful with their offer, however, how many of you guys have knowledge of the tabled offer. In addition, what more could Adelaide do, we gave him an opportunity as a mature recruuit when no body else wanted him, and ensured his security when he was injured.

The offer was fair and reasonable

the bottom line, I alerted too this deal early in the season, this deal was done by May this year, Hudson is 29years old and wanted a three year deal, I am comfortable with the 2 years that have been offered.

In regards to our ruck options, I am very excited about Maric, Griffen, and Tippett, not to mention Biglands has been flying in his recovery

I would also expect the crows to target another potential ruckman, I know for a fact that they have already made contact with C Wood's management and also enquired about another very experience ruckman, currently getting limited opportunities

Lets be honest, Hudson is a competitor, but he is not in the leagues top 6 ruckmen, the crows will manage without him, and do EXTREMELY well out of the trade

The best thing to happen IMHO is some of these guys make the decision for the crows. Craig to his credit wants to give his players the confidence to know they'll be given every chance. These guys deciding they'll leave will enable to crows to get better picks, or new players and suddenly our list will be rejuvenated without having to hurt the trust Craig is trying to instill. Biglands will be right to lead the ruck next year while Maric and Griffin will be better next season. Hudson leaving will actually help our young ruckmen develop because there'll be a spot for them. Perhaps these guys leaving will generate enough interest to help Collingwood part way with Didak.

Hudson was a good player, and did a job but he's not that great a player and is possibly now even past his best.

Sometimes in these cases you have no choice but to trust the club. We don't know the details of the deal, we don't even know whether it is all over money or 1 year. The club is in the nest position to know what he's worth and where our replacements are in their developments.

Scoob, every club makes mistakes. However, the club is right more often than the people who disagree with them on every hard call.
