If we have 1.7m people living in SA and have completed 33,303 tests we've tested around 1 in 52 people.

Yeah, her daughter and grandchild also copped it.

She couldn't even say goodbye.

Yet being the operative word at the moment, he's not as old as I thought though after having a quick squizz.

All because they went to a winery for a nice relaxing lunch. Horrific. I read an article from his wife yesterday that was a tough read :(

Yeah I reckon it is. His wife was on the news last night. Very sad. The hospital was supposed to be having a meeting last night to decide on whether she would be allowed to go and see him before he passed away.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep

My understanding is that he attended a large wedding in Victoria where visitors came from Italy. I believe he had been in ICU and critical for some time and was one of the first to test positive in the state

A lot of chat around either we wait fir vaccine 18 months or lock the elderly away and let the rest of us continue on and get the virus which will then mean community transmission will become lower as a lot of people in the younger age will get it and get over quickly and then become immune to it.....if this is the option they go for by end of May most of us will be back working and continuing on
My opinion is this is the way the gov will go as we cannot afford economically to have a 12 - 18 month lockdown
And yes young people may die from the infection during this process.

One of the worlds leading vaccine research groups ( I can't recall the name, I'll try and find the story ) has moved from one stage ( identifying the code ) of the virus to preliminary trials in 4 weeks, they usually take 12-18 months to do that step.

Not that I'm holding out hope, but there's literally thousands working around the world around the clock.

Not until the end of April at least in S.A., depends on numbers if it extends longer
