The government can't prevent Australians from entering the country.

Mate, we're in a pandemic, they can do whatever they like, they could've got the hotel isolation plan in place far sooner.
Yes they should have got the quarantine in place sooner.
You can’t deny Australian’s from returning home though

Given all the money that's being thrown at this thing..... I can't understand why the RAAF are not being involved here, and we send Orions, or whatever to collect the stranded Aussies and bring them home?!

A mixture of freight and people returning home. Majority of domestic flights currently are within the state to regional areas

Short of holding a referendum to change the constitution, they can't deny Australian citizens passage into the country, although they could leave them in Xmas Island for a couple of weeks.

The US has revised their forecasting and predict 100,000 people in the US will die with the number potentially reaching as high as 240,000.

There is no way Trump can get reelected, his handling of this has been nothing short of diabolical. His actions and words are verging on criminal.

You severely underestimate how dumb the Yanks are. Half of the US love Trump and he will turn it all back on China and promise the world to the public and they will lap it up.
He will utterly destroy Biden

Are people in positions of power that dumb/greedy?
Well yes they are!

If this thing only ends once everyone has got it, there is a lot to be said for catching it now, while there are still ICU beds available should you have a bad reaction, rather than catching it in May when we are having 5000 cases a day.

Is that the only solution, to deliberately infect low risk people to slow down the risk.

Some would say that's why they left the schools open as long as they did.

Option 1 - Schools stay open, kids go to school and go home as they did at the start of term 1.

Option 2 - Schools close, kids have nowhere to go as the parents keep going to work, kids are crawling the streets, shopping centres, malls and flicking this shit around everywhere.

Or parents could take some responsibility for their kids.

Probably only take a few thousand kids being fined for being out to make parents do their job.

Added bonus is extra money for healthcare services.

You know what it was like as a teenager when you were on holidays, which is basically what it would be, you'd be running amok like the rest of us.

If parents took responsibility for their kids the Cavan Youth Centre wouldn't be the Cavan Youth Centre.

Don’t most teenagers just sit on their phones using social media anyway?

Those kids whose parent's don't 'take responsibility' for them are most likely better off being out of the house (but that's a whole other topic).
I apologise.

I went shopping today and only saw 3 kids in the 30 minutes I was out and about.
If that didn't suprise me enough they wete actually well behaved!
Shopping at the brickworks was a breeze today but as its so new the shops and aisles are quite spaced out.
Managed to walk straight up to a checkput with lining up too, was a delight!

PS If people want more than 2 cartons of beer at a time The Royal on Henley Beach Rd has no limit. :D

Why would you need to buy more than 2 cartons at a time?
