i think asking for $1 million over 3 years i probably a bit excessive. No guarantees that he would play that long if Maric and Griffin develop over summer.

Disgraceful Adelaide.

How many ruckman are there in the league you can count on all year to be a consistent performer? Not many and yet we've just sent one packing because we're too stingy. Pathetic.

that is bad for the crows. but it gives the crows more room to move with didak now that they are trading huddo and kenny to victoria. but i think it is a bad thing what huddo is doing 1 million over 3 years is to much. and the crows drafted him at 25 should be more commited to the club

Well, I don't think you really know if Hudson is that different from Carr or Stevens, thats my point

Hudson had played up in Queensland recently, in fact i think he might even be from there originally although i'm not certain. I dont think the "return home" scenario really applies here like it did with Carr and Stevens.

If Hudson got the contract he was after i'm sure he would have stayed (although the other variable is his likely annoyance with the club over apparent harsh criticism/abuse he received from the coach after the Essendon game, and also his club imposed 1 game suspension), i doubt either Stevens or Carr would have stayed if they got long term deals.

I have got no doubt he would have stayed if he got the money from Adelaide.

But is it a bit excessive, A million over three years? for a bloke who is 28 and has younger ruckmen developing behind him? Maybe a tad IMO.

Will be intersting if WB are the only ones to make a big play at him because Carlton could really use him, in fact they need someone like him urgently.. But will their attention be else where because of the Judd Factor.

Its going to be an interesting trade week isnt it

Round figures, isn't the average wage $150k per season (basing that on $6m over 40 players - I know it's not exact, but run with me here)?

So Huddo reckons he is worth twice the average footballer? If I were his team mate, I would want the club to stand firm on that one. A bloke who wants his team mates to take a pay cut on his behalf isn't there for the benefit of the team.

BTW, didn't sydney-dog predict something similar? I seem to recall him saying Hudson wanted to move back to Victoria?

Reading between the lines...perhaps Hudson wanted to go, but thought what the hell ask for copious amounts of money. Hey if Adelaide pay me more than what I'm worth, then you beauty, if they don't then say adios and I'll go cos I've had enough of them anyway...

I like how all these people think they know the figures involved. FFS.

HUGE loss for the Crows, at Huddo's age he'll be at his peak for rucking in the next 3 - 4 years.

Huddo doesn't owe the Crows anything, they owe him a heap after his lion hearted performance this year.

A great bloke too, the Bulldogs will get not only an awesome player but an awesome club man. The Cows are spiralling downhill in a hurry, wouldn't surprise me if a few more try to jump ship next year.

Good luck to Huddo, hope the Bulldogs end up higher on the ladder than the Crows for the time he's there.

Well "loved" at North as evidenced by this release on the NAFC website.

http://www.nafc.com.au/news/p641.aspx

A certain Crows official (as mentioned in this thread) has alot to answer for - not just for this but the way he conducts himself at trade week by all accounts, the Crows being the least favoured club to do any deal with if the mail is correct from the other clubs.

According to my "sources" his actual asking price is nowhere near what the media are speculating however it satisfies the Crows to leak a figure that makes Hudson look greedy so they come out of it smelling like roses so to speak!

The Crows will eventually have no one wanting to play for them if their reported methods of using the media at times to get at people including their own players is true.

This time last year I was goin off my tree about what the crows did to Ben Hart - I just wished he had of played a few more games at SANFL level and won the magarey medal to show them he still could play - to me though from what ive seen this year the lad has still got it !!!

Side note I have Chambo down for only 17 votes

Ben Hart would have been a lot better value than some of the others that hung around down there.
He's been nothing short of sensational for North.
