Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
The old Wakefield Hospital and ECH at Walkerville have been reopened or recommissioned in the next month to make for 188 more beds in the health system, these will take over flow of non COVID-19 patients.
The RAH will take COVID-19 adults, Flinders High risk pregnant women, the WCH children and infants in dedicated COVID-19 clinics.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
Somewhat of a feel good story that probably wont make the news but is a great result of companies partnering.
Coles are looking to hire 5000 short term new staff members to cope with current demand. They have partnered with the YMCA organisation providing priority opportunity to casual YMCA employees who cant get work due to their centre/facilities being shutdown.
Most of these employees are under 21 years old and currently studying with massive HEC debts.
A great win/win for all parties involved.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
Auburn IGA is now asking for ID to prove location of living so that locals can still by produce.
Apparently it has been all of the crazy out of towners driving the fairly short distance to Auburn on taking all of the stock leaving locals with nothing. Especially farmers/agricultural workers who need the early morning starts for quality of produce.
Apparently this is on the second IGA in Australia to do this.

Excellent. Have also heard of a couple of small-town supermarkets who have been keeping a little stock out the back for the oldies they know.
But regarding the out-of-towners, have the same about Pirie and Yorketown F**K OFF C*NTS

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
Some useful information if you or someone you know can't attend work :
https://www.fairwork.gov.au/about-us/ne ... ws?print=1
So, if you are sick :
Use your sick leave.
If you aren't sick and the employer chooses to shut down the facility :
Where an employer directs a full-time or part-time employee to stay home in line with advice, for example in line with the Australian Government’s health and quarantine advice, and the employee is not sick with coronavirus, the employee should ordinarily be paid while the direction applies.
If you aren't sick but have returned home from overseas :
However, if an employee cannot work because they are subject to a government order requiring them to self-quarantine, the employee is not ordinarily entitled to be paid (unless they use leave entitlements). In this case, their inability to work is because of a government order, not because of their employer.
