Agree

Along with physically ailments as well

Many people rely on professional fitness professionals like physios just to live functional lives

That relates to 35 000 hospital admissions - only 10% of those infected are expected to require hospitalisation (FMC had 98 000 Separations in 2017-18)

Of that 35000, 10 000 may require ICU treatment. There are less than 200 ICU beds in SA

If this sh!t gets real decision will be made and health care prioritised based on your age and pre-existing conditions

Are you over 60 - no ICU bed for you
Are you over 70 - we wont admit you

The social distancing is all about reducing the number of cases across Australia so our health system can cope with the increased demand and avoid preventable deaths

SA Health are expecting this to last 6-9 months (conversation today with people who provide training for them in Open Disclosure)

Surely we can’t be on lockdown for that length of time though.

Our company is expecting us to work from home during a lockdown period and we will be paid our standard pay

Our company understands we may not work to the same level as we do in the workplace but it is what it is.

Not sure how it would work if it’s not possible to do any work from home

Good question. Our sales staff working from home on full pay. However if our manufacturing has to close down then Sales as such have no function. Further if there is a forced shutdown then our customers are closed too. It’s a can of worms.

Pub's full again tonight mainly with old people and kids.
Already had to tell one guy off who was sneezing and coughing without covering his mouth.
Nobuse in people with common sense taking precautions as stupid people are going to spread it at a rapid rate anyway.

Anyone noticed a few refridgerated containers placed in various locations around Adelaide? Preparing for bodies?

Work email just sent out advising that all staff have been notified to return from OS ASAP if possible as International flights are about to close. Very likely that we will be going into lockdown March 20th-31st and that the government will make their decision by tomorrow morning.

Just read this a minute before Chris Uhlman repeated it on ch 9.
Interesting. Will ask tomorrow at work about it, see what they say.

Farcical!

Can confirm no work from home directive.

Can confirm there are very few staff in dpti with laptops. (I know maybe 2)

No idea on the vpn users limit.

I have been told that only essential staff may be offered to work from home, but that wont be available to everyone. I have a pc at home i could use, as do many others, but there is just no way for it to set up secure access for everyone in any sort of timeframe that would make it an option

Over at SA Health preparations are under way for this to occur very soon. Staff have been asked for all login details, laptop serial number and if they have broadband internet access at home.....

In a nutshell there are laws that protect employers where their employees have no sick or annual leave left. It depends on your work place is as they are well within their rights to no longer pay you once your leave runs out.

My sister works in a small pharmacy, they average around $5500 intake on a normal day. they more than tripled that on Sunday for a 6 hour day, Monday she took $2000 at her register alone in one hour between noon and 1pm.

One woman went in yesterday in a panic asking my sister what will she need for her son as he has returned from overseas and needs to be self isolated, my sister asked where is he staying "At my place" was her answer.

People are just f******* dumb, this dumb cow has someone at her house in isolation yet she's going shopping, her other son is going to school and her husband going to work, my sister ripped into her.

I reckon its slightly devious how all pharmacies are heavily marketing to get your 'flu' vaccine now. Cleary the flu vaccine doesnt stop coronavirus.

No but it is important to get the flu vaccine to prevent clogging up the hospitals when flu season arrives.
The less people that require hospitalisation for the flu the better
