I upgraded to one of the newer ones about 12 months ago and last week I got a letter stating that if I didn’t send the old one back they would add $140 to my bill. If you haven’t got an account anymore I’m not sure what they do though

A woman at work had the same issue but apparently they are now accepting an email with a photo of your meter.
