AFL Bushfire Fundraiser - Vic vs The Rest

Post by Booney »

The AFL has proposed a "All star" fundraiser for raise monies for the bushfire appeal.

It's being touted as Victoria vs All Stars ( The rest ).....

AFL.com.au has put together ( hastily ) some sides :

Victoria
B: Tom Stewart (Geelong), Daniel Talia (Adelaide), Adam Saad (Essendon)
HB: James Sicily (Hawthorn), Michael Hurley (Essendon), Sam Docherty (Carlton)
C: Jack Macrae (WB), Dustin Martin (Richmond), Zach Merrett (Essendon)
HF: Shaun Higgins (North Melbourne), Tom Lynch (Richmond), Robbie Gray (Port Adelaide)
F: Toby Greene (GWS), Jeremy Cameron (GWS), Jordan De Goey (Collingwood)
R: Max Gawn (Melbourne), Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong), Marcus Bontempelli (WB)
Int: Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood), Clayton Oliver (Melbourne), Ben Cunnington (North Melbourne), Sam Walsh (Carlton), Gary Ablett (Geelong), Rowan Marshall (St Kilda)

All Stars (NSW, Queensland, Tasmania, NT, South Australia and Western Australia)
B: Rory Laird (Adelaide), Steven May (Melbourne), Dane Rampe (Sydney)
HB: Brodie Smith (Adelaide), Harris Andrews (Brisbane), Shannon Hurn (West Coast)
C: Bradley Hill (St Kilda), Patrick Cripps (Carlton), Tim Kelly (West Coast)
HF: Charlie Cameron (Brisbane), Jack Riewoldt (Richmond), Isaac Heeney (Sydney)
F: Michael Walters (Fremantle), Ben Brown (North Melbourne), Aaron Naughton (Western Bulldogs)
R: Brodie Grundy (Collingwood), Nat Fyfe (Fremantle), Lachie Neale (Brisbane)
Int: Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn), Stephen Coniglio (GWS), Elliot Yeo (West Coast), Alex Sexton (Gold Coast), Connor Rozee (Port Adelaide), Jarrod Witts (Gold Coast
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

This was discussed between Heveren (sp?) and Dal Santo on SEN this morning and they seemed to think Hardwick v Simpson

I know those nominated teams were put together hastily, but Stephen May in and no Jeremy McGovern?

It's for a good cause but the 'Dream Team' concept is a load of garbage. Have state v state or not at all.

Completely underwhelmed by this.

SOO is dead.... let it rest.

It will never be the same and these manufactured all-star games just dont cut it for me.

Its not a serious game, who really cares about the concept and how the game will be played, its a bit of fun to raise some good cash, focus on the outcome.

Probably ideal timing with people craving a bit of footy Im guessing the Vics will turn up in great numbers.

Spot on, only result that matters is the number of $$ raised and directed toward those in need.

Would prefer it as Vic v WA.
SA's side looks quite embarrassing.
All stars v Vic next best thing but not ideal.
Great cause though, so hopefully a good crowd.
