LMAO. So that's how he scored 35 goals in 16 matches. NFI as per usual Silly Cone Tits.

Steve Johnson is definately not an All-Australian forward.
Sure, he picked up some touches, and managed to come 19th in the league in goal kicking.
Doesn't make him a strict forward.
He's a goal kicking utility in a strong team.
Not a super star All-Australian forward.
He's an over-achiever who had a good year.
Collingwood would be looking at that thinking old T Cloke would definately be unlucky.

Please.
Johnson in for sure. He may not make the final 22 but he will go close. Had a great year and that is what the all-australian team is all about. Rewarding players who have had great seasons. I can not believe, in a squad of 40 players, that Simon Goodwin can't make the grade. And before anyone points out my previous point, he HAS had a great season. Numbers have been good most weeks and he has lead Adelaide execptionally well in Roo's absence. Goodwin in...........Maybe an unlucky Sam Mitchell out. He to has had a good year numbers wise but burns to much of the footy for mine. Other than that can't see to many problems with the list. Who will be selected as Captain? Any thoughts?
I'd say Pav but Freo's c**p season may play a roll there. Can't really see to many other options.

Great, REB and Haloman join forces.
The brains trust rolls into town.
Steve Johnson won't make the 22, simply because he isn't good enough.
And that is justice.

Steve Johnson would walk into the AA side if he'd played the whole year, even blind Freddy would recognise how good he's been, I reckon he'll miss out because of the games he missed though.

As reported today

The Magpies were asked to nominate who they thought should be in the squad and named only two players.

And Shaw wasn't one of them.

Collingwood nominated Lockyer and key forward Travis Cloke.

Magpie president Eddie McGuire has savaged selectors for the non-inclusion of any of his players and made cases for Lockyer and Shaw.

His spray upset some of the selectors, particularly when they knew Shaw had not been named by his club.

(Not can be said for all Collingwood fans)

If you want to go far, go together.

Let's face it we all like the players we can identify ourselves with and select them for that rather than skills - there is no objectivity inthe human brain.

I am in no way the ultimate AFL guru but surely youd have
Chapman - Geelong
S.Burgoyne - Port
Goodwin - Adelaide
in that 40 man squad somewhere.

Why did they even bother doing it anyway?
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

Fair team. Only player I would change is maybe Franklin for Mooney.

still havent calmed down....looking at the team they seem to give a lot of credit to players that have been there before and are more experienced, there aint many young players in there...

at least Mike Sheehan agrees with me...

How can 2 top 4 teams only have 1 player between them?

Lade had more hitouts, goals, marks and tackles than Mcintosh. Its not as ridiculous a decision as some are making it out to be. Id also say Lade would have had many many more goal assists than Mcintosh as well.

On second thoughts looking at the team it is an odd one. 9 players from one club is unprecedented. Probably too much. Guys like Franklin and especially Lucas had better years than Mooney. Mitchell can feel unlucky missing out in favour of Ling and 3 Full Backs in one team? Dont know why Fletcher is in there.

Mcleod as Captain is another strange decision. Hes not even in the leadership group at his own club and in reality there would be 3-4 players in that side that stand out as Captains ahead of him. Really strange decision.
