Re: Trans Tasman Trophy
Pitch the ******* thing up! Got a new batsman at the crease and you’re just bowling short shit at a team that is 4-300.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Re: Trans Tasman Trophy
Head won’t get a better chance to hammer home his reputation as a genuine test batsmen than today
His in form, Average attack, good team position, good pitch, he just has to make it count so that way when your out of form you have the numbers to demand your stay in the side.

And on cue he gets out to a poor shot

Re: Trans Tasman Trophy
Head's always a walking wicket when he gets tied down. On 10 runs off 40 balls he was always going to play a shot that wasn't there.
Needs to have more of a plan when he's not scoring much.

Re: Trans Tasman Trophy
Take out Labuschagne and it’s been a pretty dismal innings against this pop gun attack

How can you find Smith boring to watch? His batting in The Ashes was on another planet.
Agree with others on Wagner, if he bowled that medium pace short rubbish to Hayden, Ponting, Gilchrist etc he'd be laughed out of the country.

Re: Trans Tasman Trophy
Take out Marnus' innings and it would show a very ordinary batting performance by the Australians

Was just thinking the same, I'm thinking maybe this pitch isn't that easy to bat on and we will rip out NZ for <150

Re: Trans Tasman Trophy
Take out his score and the rest made 239 from 539, Marnus 215 from 363. It happens alot though and that's cricket, one guy makes a big score and the rest don't cash in on starts.locky801 wrote:Take out Marnus' innings and it would show a very ordinary batting performance by the Australians
454 all out in 5 sessions is still a good score. 150.1 overs the Kiwis bowled after bowling 146.2 in Australia's first innings in Perth and 155.1 in Melbourne.
Probably a good time to have the Kiwis bat now anyway, let's see what they got on this pitch.

Re: Trans Tasman Trophy
Slow going for this opening pair but this is NZ's highest opening partnership of the series.

They took 7/166 & are 0/63 at stumps. Clearly their day today.

Their best day of the series, took 5/100 in the middle session and 2/71 in the first session.

You answered your own question
For the supposed next best to Bradman he is a long way off even handling Wagner, a 130km/hr trundler, how many of them did England roll out against us in the 90s and 00s?
