Good on Pavlich for staying at Dockers. Leaving a club like the Dockers would have been easier than leaving WCE, esp with the potential of the Eagles over the next few years if they kept their list together

Wakelin was a trade. We traded pick 4 for him.

Just finished watching the press conference just then.

I cant understand why he told his manager on Thursday? 1 day before a massive final for the club, how did he feel watching the players put their bodys on the line and coming up short in extra time when he knew he was leaving next year?

This decision has clearly been on the cards for a long time, he said he knew in 2005 that he would probably go back to Vic.

Why did he take the captaincy if he knew he was going to leave?

His manager has been speaking to clubs on his behalf in the last 6 months. I think he could have handled it a little better to be honest.

Everyone probably realises i am a WCE supporter by my previous posts. I Have a funny feeling WCE are going to get screwed in this trade.

Pup, what is your gut feeling re the Victorian club of choice. Would love to see him at Carlton, we have plenty of room in the cap with Kouta & Lappo gone, plus Whitnall if he stays will be on a vastly reduced contract.
Pick 3 and Fev maybe ?? If Fevola goes that would open up our cap even more....

Thats what i would want is Fev and pick 3 from Carlton, i would not be interested in dealing with Kennedy which has been thrown around by everyone else.

The rumours are that he will name a couple of clubs so that WCE get a decent deal out of it which would be good, The ones in the running i haver heard is Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne and Essendon.

If we could get Fev and 3 i would like to deal with Carlton but it all depends on what Fevola wants to do regarding Family, Business (New Restaurant)

Collinwood will try and screw us like they do with every club at the trade table. Melbourne dont have a great deal to offer the club. It is going to be a very interesting month. I just pray WCE get a bit of value out of the trade.

He said that he told them he was unsure at the time and the club said that was okay even though he may leave !!!

Cant blame the club as they thought he may stay I guess !!!

That is the go as a Blues man. Judd is only 24 and with our list being one of the youngest in the AFL, would add a fair bit a of stability to it, compared to another midfielder that we would have to try and get up...
Kennedy is not on as I think in the long run he will be a proven forward.
Carlton have shown this year we can score and score big without Fev kicking goals. We are not as dependent on him as others make out...

Yeah, but his return to SA had nothing to do with the 'go home factor'. He could have easily ended up in Brisbane or Perth, so stay in Melbourne like his brother.

I would be very interested in Fevola to be part of the deal but i think WCE will be driving a pretty high price. I would say if it was with Carlton it would be Fev plus pick 3. I think WCE will be looking to be compensated pretty well with this trade.

On second thoughts maybe just pick 3. WCE may not have a say in the matter. If Judd walks and goes in the pre-season, Richmond will grab him for nothing...WCE get nothing in return...
Could be very interesting...

Its going to be very interesting all right

Pick 3 wont be enough for Carlton, Judd has not nominated a club and will probably nominate 2-4. Carlton are not just going to just let Judd slide through so Richmond can get him. Pratt wants him bad, he wants to leave a legacy at the club on field and off, he has said that. If Melbourne, Essendon, Collingwood, Kangaroos all come to the party Carlton will have to offer something a lot better than just pick 3.

Make no mistake WCE will play hard ball right until the end i think. This is a premiership Captain, Brownlow Medalist, Norm Smith and Best and Fairest Winner, and the face of our club. This isnt some mediocre home sick player ala Des Headland, Nick Davis, Daniel Chick.

But you are right it is a catch 22, If Judd nominated Carlton as his side then we are in trouble i think, Judd will want WCE to be compensated but not sell away his new clubs future.

I dont rate this draft very highly after the top few, so i would be very keen to get an established player and draft picks. I have a feeling Melbourne might be in with a big chance considering Chris grew up barracking for them. This will take most of Trade week to organise maybe even hampering other deals, dont be surprised if 3-4 clubs are involved.

Being a carlton fan i would hope we wouldnt give up fev and pick 3. One or the other would be ok, but it will be interesting to see what the outcome is, osteitis can trouble a player for years, so there is a risk factor there.
Judd does look great in blues colours tho..........

Its going to be a scape to get him. It will be intesting to see what the clubs offer the eagles for Judd.

Maybe a good outcome for West Coast would be Carlton's first round draft pick, plus a further first round draft pick.

West Coast made Judd what he is, West Coast have one of the best training and development programmes for players in the AFL and it is one of the reasons as to why they are one of best clubs in the AFL.

If West Coast could get two first round picks as well as their own, that will give them a good opportunity to do it all over again and continue to extend the window of opportunity that every commentator likes to talk about!
