Re: 2019/20 Australian International summer
Are Cricket Australia for real?
35k down on budgeted figures.....
They put games that no one cares about on Foxtel (ie, maybe 1/3 possible audience) and wonder why their crowds are down 35k down. Really? Were they expecting people to 'not be able to see it on TV, so I'll go the cricket' (whilst being ripped off by ticket entry, pies, pasties and beer)? It's 2019, there are other options!
Here's a thought. Put games that count, on free to air for audiences that want the product, promoted accordingly. FFS, it's not THAT difficult!
The game tonight, I said to my 10yo lad that a T20 was on and his comment was 'who cares, I'll wait to watch the real stuff' (tests).

Yeah just a joke of a match and series really, Pakistan barely gave a yelp. What's more of a joke is Steve Smith being awarded player of the series despite only batting once. What a farce.gadj1976 wrote:The Dark Knight wrote:Aussies win by 10 wickets to take the series 2-0.The Dark Knight wrote:Aussies put the clamps on Pakistan, 8/106 from their 20.helicopterking wrote:There’s a T20 on tonight

Nic Maddinson has withdrawn from Australia A v Pakistan tour match starting Monday due to mental health concerns. He will be replaced by Cameron Bancroft.

Im really starting to tire of Justin Langer, has far too much say, on what universe is Bancroft in the best 22 players in the country? Has done absolutely nothing in England or Australia yet Langer finds a way to get him in. Way too many West Australians getting far more recognition than they deserve, Langer included.

Thought the same, it's a farce. Looking at ths season's Sheffield Shield run getters (where Bancroft isn't even in the top 50) surely guys like Cooper and Marsh at the top of the list get in before Bancroft?

Probably because he's from NSW - another red carpet roll out.

Re: 2019/20 Australian International summer
Him getting MOTM Friday night was stupid but he deserves his spot in Australia's T20 side I reckon, has the second most wickets in BBL history (85) so is obviously a good option in the T20 format.Minimum Chips wrote:Lightning McQueen wrote:The Dark Knight wrote:Yeah just a joke of a match and series really, Pakistan barely gave a yelp. I reckon it was just the game is in WA & with the late out was easier to get Bancroft straight in. Dare say he will bat at 6 now & Aus wont be considering him for that position.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

You're probably on the money but it shouldn't be the case, too many spots are gifted not earned, at the end of the day, you're still representing your country.
