Bells Beach Brewery.
Had a Saturday arvo/early evening session last weekend. What a great place. Very relaxed vibe, no pretentious wankers, staff/owners more than happy to have a chat about all things brewing.
On tap;
Southside Saison 5.2%
Bells Beach Blonde 4%
Point Addis Pale Ale 5%
Posso’s IPA 6%
Bird Rock Brown 4.8%
Steps Stout 4%
Winky Wiipa 9%
I tried every one of them - possibly twice... We were drinking imperial pints, all at a very reasonable $10 a pop.
The Wiipa was very fruity & potent, the stout was pumped into your glass with an old fashioned wooden pull down handle served at room temp.
The brown was a coffee hit with chocolate finish, but the IPA was my favourite - very smooth.
We were fortunate enough through a contact to access a private area upstairs with pool table, dart board & space invaders machine.
Out the front was “Sticks & Bones” food van which served arguably the best beef brisket burger ($16) I’ve ever had.
We played corn hole (google it) until it was dark then went back to the house to watch the footy - I didn’t make quarter time.
If ever you are in this part of the world I thoroughly recommend a visit here.

From a mate, obviously a 0 rating

If you travel down the South East and ever visit Periwinkles Fish Cafe' at Port MacDonnell don't bother going there, the food was horrid and expensive. I had a seafood platter with 1 piece of grilled fish, 2 unpeeled prawns, 2 pieces of squid rolled up and stuck with a tooth pic, a crab crumbed and DE-shelled, it looked undersized, large amount of salad and cold chips that I didn't eat with a small serve of Tartar sauce and the whole meal was on a small dinner plate and a staggering cost of $40 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was disgusted and walked out.

Had dinner last night at Terrior in Auburn on their "locals night", $55 a head for 3 courses, 3 choices for entree & mains and 2 choices for dessert, was fantastic. Beautiful and very delicious food with great service and a great local beer and wine list.

Billy Ming - Port Adelaide Plaza

Part of the new development on the Eastern end near KFC, Billy Ming, nice new Chinese restaurant, so new they were still working out the I-pad / ordering system, but we were ok with that, really nice staff.

4 of us shared :

Mixed dumplings ( 6 ) - 7/10, they're dumplings
Chicken Bao Buns ( 2 x 2 ) - 8/10, awesome

Crispy Half Duck - 8/10, awesome
Sizzling Mongolian Beef - 6/10, sliced up too thin
Pepper Beef - 6/10, as above
S&P Squid - 6/10, might have been from a frozen packet
Mixed Asian Greens - 8/10, crunchy and garlicy
S/Fried Rice - 8/10, heaps of it, lots of add ins

Total with 4 beers and 2 rose = $167 ( $40 per person ) We couldn't have eaten another bite of we had to.

Nice new clean restaurant, friendly staff, good selection of beers and I'm happy to support a Port local. I'll be back ( or Menu Log if need be ).
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Clients recently went to Shanghai Teahouse in same complex at Port Adelaide Plaza and had positive comments. Apparently there is also one in Burnside.

Recently snapped up a Scoopon offer for Europa at the Bay.

As the missus' and I were celebrating our anniversary and this was the 1st restaurant we went to back in the courting days, the nostalgia seemed apt.

Voucher was $99 and included a Platter and Bottle of Wine .. Platter consisted of:

- 600g Cray Tail (Cray was dry as, but the seafood sauce with it was awesome)
- Garlic Bread
- Some Tomato, Bonconcini (sp) and Balsamic thing the missus loved
- Rocket Salad
- Beef Ragu
- Salt and Pepper Squid (exceptional)
- Crumbed Prawns (so-so)

We had a good time and picked the right spot - Food was pretty good, service pretty good and value exceptional - All in all not a thing to complain about.

Love the Bay on a nice balmy evening so would imagine will get around to a few more spots down there in the coming months.

Group of us went for dinner at Mai Kitchen on Saturday, Vietnamese restaurant located in the backstreets of Ferryden Park ... How have I never been to this place before?

Few people waiting in cars in the street just to get a park when we got there was a fair sign of the popularity of the place.

We had a group of 8 people and were seated comfortably in a packed restaurant probably holding around 120 people I would have guessed.

Food was amazing - Started with Hanoi Spring Rolls and Chicken skewers in an amazing Satay Sauce and followed up with Salt and Pepper squid, which was similarly awesome.

Cost came to $50 per head and each person had an Entree, Main, Shared Rice and at least 3 drinks (either Wine, Beer or Spirit) - And that included a small tip to the house too.

Will be going back and soon and highly recommend this place - Only slight downside as alluded too above is that finding a park can be a bit tricky.

This place is an absolute gem.

Food truck carnivale at Seaford

Headed down yesty arvo.

Weather turned out quite nicely.

Good set up, better than previous year at the footy club.

Some different food trucks, good vibe, plenty of people around.
Turkish bread with cheese and mushroom was beautiful.

Its on again today and the weather is perfect. I expect there to be a few people in attendance.
