All the best of luck to clubs, members, supporters and sponsors associated with the five finalists - Bays, Double Blues, Roosters, Eagles and Bulldogs - in the finals series this year.

Ah, Salisbury Magpies. I still have distant memories of winning the U10's granny by 1 point in 1972. I think Graham Thomas was coach-or was it Dennis Grigg? Or Gary Carling? Like I said, distant memories.....

My old man had just retired from the A's in 72, I was still 2 years away from existence.

Didn't expect that result but then again it was only the second game I have seen all year :)

TWO FINALS THRILLERS
ENTERTAIN SANFL FANS
The SANFL was delighted with the public’s interest in the opening round of the 2007 SANFL
‘be active’ League Finals series. Over 113,000 viewers tuned into ABC TV’s telecast of the
Elimination & Qualifying Finals – a 35% increase on the 2006 audience for the same fixture.
This viewing audience was further complemented by 11,476 die-hard fans braving the
inclement weather conditions to attend the matches at Adelaide Oval.
General Manager Marketing & Corporate Affairs Paul Anderson says “These figures are indicative of the
increased attendances the League has enjoyed during the home and away series and the public’s
ongoing support of the entertaining style of play the SANFL competition delivers. Last Sunday’s matches
highlighted the closeness of the competition and the spread of talent on show at SANFL level. To have
two thrilling matches determined by one and seven points only is a great start to the 2007 finals action”.
For the second successive season there is a great diversity of clubs involved in finals campaigns.
Following last weekend’s matches eight SANFL clubs are still involved in the quest for premiership glory
throughout the grades. These finals are the culmination of what has been a great year for the SANFL.
This weekend’s finals action at Adelaide Oval sees the reigning premiers the Eagles take on the in-form
Tigers in the do or die first Semi Final. The second Semi Final sees 2006 Grand Finallist, Central District
clash with North Adelaide, with the winner to secure a Grand Final berth. For TV and radio broadcast
