That’s got to say Cummins won’t play

Isn't that the opposite. Now Marsh is in they can play Cummins because he wont be needed to bowl as many overs.

The selectors were always going to bring in an all rounder for the fifth test. They have made absolutely no secret they are going to manage the bowlers work loads this tour. In particular Cummins must be getting starting to get tired so really there was two options rest Cummins and bring Siddle/Pattinson in or play Cummins but bring the all rounder in. With no dead rubbers now they wanted to keep their star bowler in the side.
There was never going to be a complete reshuffle in the batting line up nor should there be. Labuschagne opening would have been a disastrous move. It was always going to be either Wade or Head to make way for the all rounder and Wade pips him this tour. Heads second innings in the last test was horrible, played 3-4 massive cover drives outside off he missed by a mile before eventually being bowled going for one to many.
Last two test innings, remembering Wade also has a ton in the first test.
Wade- 34, 16, 33, 0
Head 12, 19, 25, 0
Warner surviving is no surprise he is one of the very few world class batters we have at their best, the only other being Smith. With no real better option to replace him Langer wants to give him every single chance to succeed. Smith has made coming back to test cricket after a year off look easy. Smith is a freak, not the norm. If Warner fails in the early shield games and some other opener bangs the door down im sure he will be out the side.
Head will get back in the side and tbh if he wasn't from SA there would hardly be a fuss made on here.
Realistically we should be up 3-0 in this series, the selectors have got pretty much everything right this tour.

I agree. Parochial hysteria. Not for the first time either with cricket on this site.

Think it’s more the fact he is being replaced by Mitch **** Marsh!
Would rather see Pattinson get a game as he can bat and bowl better than Marsh
