The role I have at work has come down to the final 2, and I need to make a decision today.
Choose from the following 2 candidates.
a. 40+ y/o woman, some related industry experience, needs to give 2 weeks notice from current role
or
b. 23 y/o woman, previous employee, has an understanding of our products, would be moving from a factory role into a sales/csr role. Referred to previously as Active Wear Girl. Can start next week.
Please help me choose

Was on a temporary work visa that expired, had to leave the country. Now back on a bridging visa, awaiting a partner visa. Yes, it's messy.

I'm not a fan of messy.

Not all have working rights. Some have full rights and some have limited work rights. Often depends on what visa the applicant held when they applied for the bridging visa.
Partner Visa.
The fact that it has not been granted means there are criteria not yet met, and may not get met which means bye. Many of these are turned down.

40 year old, stable.
If I was an employer I know which one I'd be happier to spend my time, money and effort training up.

In that case you need to pump her.
Will she be selling to predominately males? Men are pigs, and will buy an inferior and or more expensive product from a hot chick as opposed to someone in their mid-40s.
If she is selling to people in the middle of the companies hierarchy, then her looks should be able to get a few deals over the line.
If she is selling to people who own the company, and will therefore be the ones paying the bill, then her assets aren't as valuable.
Also, talk up the increase moral she will bring to your office.
