I brought 3 dozen bottles of wine last week online, I kept ringing each day as one of them didn't email me any tracking number or confirmation of order.

They finally sent it to me on Tuesday only to find that it was delivered to my work the previous afternoon.

I get an email today from the wine company and Australia Post at different times last night letting me know that my order is now in transit, looks like a win looming, no extra funds have come out my account either.

Australia Post are, without any shadow of doubt, the most inept carrier/courier/logistics organisation you will ever deal with. They are over priced, they under deliver, how they are still a "thing" is beyond me.

Because they have by far the most resources and most complete network available in the country. They have the market pretty much sewn up in Australia

DHL for parcels, national freight carriers for anything larger than a shoe box, email for anything document related ( password protected PDF's for sensitive documents ).

I can send a shoe box with Northline on rail to Perth faster than I can send a "red" express post parcel bag.

I’m not doubting that all but they are still a “thing” because they absolutely smash all their rivals in this country and the figures would astound you.
Most people also don’t realise that AP or its subsidiaries are used by these other big national freight companies aswell because they just don’t have the network capabilities

We use Startrack for Australian overnight stuff, they are a nightmare. DHL internationally. I can get a product to a customer in Auckland, quicker than I can get one to a customer in Melbourne. Go Figure!

I noticed when buying an Australia Post express envelope the other day that the "guaranteed next day delivery" is no longer on there.

I acutally don't care how much it costs but when I need something in a major city the next day why the hell can't it be guaranteed FFS?

Whilst it would cost a hell of a lot more, you could go to the airport and take it there yourself this afternoon.

They used to refund you the cost if it didn't arrive next day within the express post network.

Our postage bill was half of what it should have been with all the freebies we get

They are getting rid of the pre-paid packaging too, so everything will be by weight or cubed.

She's going with the red dust organisation that were shown on the Front Bar in May. They encourage Indigenous youth to learn more about health and make healthy lifestyle choices through the mentoring and influence of positive role models in sport, art, music and dance.

I also rate my daughter for volunteering for such a great cause, should be an amazing experience for her too!

Edit: I contacted North Adelaide and they've done the same! :)

Picked up the gear this morning from North and was overwhelmed! They told me they couldn't provide much on short notice but still managed 6 full size footys, 5 pairs of shorts, 5 guernseys, 3 jackets, 17 singlets and 2 polos!
Footy clubs can be amazing places, really moved.

Update:

My daughter managed to get everything from South and North in her checked in luggage. Is taking her own clothes in carry on.
She flies out tomorrow and does some cultural awareness training tomorrow night in Alice Springs before travelling the 530kms by 4wd on her birthday on Sunday to Kintore.
From all reports the kids up there will love the gear, my daughter will be helping organise a sports day up there. It'll be North v South!
