Tim Delvins and James Boyd tie for ressies MM!

Postby BPBRB » Wed Sep 12, 2007 2:27 pm

Tim Delvins from North has won this years Reserves Magarey Medal with 18 votes - a good effort considering he overcome injury in the early part of the year and also managed to play a couple of Senior games too.

Michael Wundke finshed in the top 10 with 12 votes - another good effort considering he has played a fair portion in the Seniors as well.

Also in the same article on the NAFC website is the fact that Charlie McAdam the son of Gilbert was runner up in the U17's medal count - missing by one vote. He is only 16 and looks a very likely future star when he learns to go hard and chase all game long.

Interesting the son of Gilbert is at North.
I guess his uncles had an influence.

I was referring to the 2 threads on one medal, rather than Norths dodgy reporting. :D

I got what you meant but had I known that he tied, I would have started this topic with the heading of "Tie for the Ressies MM" or something along those lines!

Lucas Block (Glenelg) came 3rd - one vote behind. (after being promoted to the League team for the last round!)

Highlights I guess that the Medal goes to the player(s) most unlucky not to be playing League.

Yeah, I knew that. However, Gilbert finished his senior career at the Dogs, not so long ago.
I thought if he was still happy to finish his career after his AFL sojourn with us, his son might have been guided that way too.

League is a different story, BB. These medals are always low counts and therefore going to be closer. Get BOG in a couple of ressies or underage games and you play up for a while or maybe the rest of the season. A league player who does the same stays in the team (unless they're AFL listed and then unless they're Brad Symes) so you're always likely to see more votes given to a few players in the league.

congrats to Boydy, certainly well deserved. He had a good game last saturday in the 2's along with the other 9 players for south who are still elligible for u/19's.
Am I right in saying that Boydy also won the McCallum medal in the u/17's a few years back? cue spelly.
